Fall of the Lich King Cinematic - MAJOR SPOILERS

This is it. The final "act" of Wrath of the Lich King concludes with the epic battle against Arthas, and upon the final blow, we get this epic cinematic. It seems like Arthas gets his last moment of redemption. We get to see his admission of suffering. Terenas confirms what Uther said in Halls of Reflection about the need for a Lich King to prevent the Scourge from sweeping over the land. With the Helm of Domination in hand, Tirion nearly commits to accepting the position of Lich King, before Bolvar cries out to him. Bolvar is badly burned and mutilated, and asks Tirion to allow him to bear the burden of restraining the Scourge. Tirion hesitates, and tells Bolvar that his great sacrifice will not be forgotten. Bolvar tells him to tell the world that the Lich King was killed, and Bolvar Fordragon died with him. He dons the helm, and becomes the new Lich King. Script:
With Arthas fallen, Frostmourne and the Helm of Domination at his sides, the ghost of Terenas Menethil II appears. Arthas: Father! Is it... over? Terenas: At long last... No king rules forever, my son. Arthas: I see... only darkness... for me. Arthas' hand falls from his father's as he dies. Terenas brushes his eyes closed as Tirion approaches. Terenas: Without its master's command, the restless Scourge will become an even greater threat to this world. Control must be maintained. There must always be a Lich King. The ghost of Terenas dissipates. Tirion shields his eyes, then notices the Helm of Domination on the ground. He lifts it and looks into its eyes. Tirion: The weight of such a burden... it must be mine, for there is no other- Bolvar: TIRION! You hold a grim destiny in your hands, brother. But it is not your own. Tirion glances at the Frozen Throne and sees a badly burnt and mutilated Bolvar Fordragon laying against the ice. Tirion: Bolvar! By all that is holy... Bolvar: The dragon's flame sealed my fate. The world of the living can no longer comfort me. Tirion approaches Bolvar. Bolvar: Place the crown upon my head, Tirion. Forever more, I will be the jailor of the damned. Tirion: No, old friend. I cannot- Bolvar: DO IT, Tirion. You and these brave heroes have your own destinies to fulfill. This last act of service... is mine. Tirion holds the helm up to Bolvar. Tirion: You will not be forgotten, brother- Bolvar: I MUST BE FORGOTTEN, Tirion. If the world is to live free from the tyranny of fear, they must never know what was done here today. Tirion nods and slowly places the helm onto Bolvar's head. The Frozen Throne shakes as Bolvar's eyes glow crimson and his voice deepens to the growl of the Lich King. Bolvar: Tell them only that the Lich King is dead... Ice encases Bolvar as he finishes his transformation. The Lich King: And Bolvar Fordragon died with him. Now, GO! Leave this place, and never return.
Tirion stated that saving Bolvar was a great opportunity for the Horde and Alliance to rebuild ties. With Bolvar inheriting the position of Lich King, it does not seem that this was accomplished. Was Bolvar corrupted as Arthas was? Bolvar does not seem to take up Frostmourne, and he is encased in the ice of the Frozen Throne. It seems that he will be a benevolent ruler and restrain the armies of the Scourge from running amok.

WoWFlix: Don't Trust a Rogue

WoWFlix is a column featuring videos from around the web related to World of Warcraft. If you find something you’d like to be featured, leave a comment or send a tweet to @Heartbourne. This video is an amazing parody of a song by 3OH!3. The lyrics are ingenious and its about rogues. The play on "don't trust a ho" is clever and works really well. What more could you want from a WoW music video? Unlike most WoW videos, the vocals are spot on. The post-processing on it is at just the right level. I have to give a lot of props to the creators of this song and video for doing such a great job. Theandrin and Bulltastic covered the vocals while Candidá and Theandrin worked their machinima magic with the Rise of Dawn guild on Khaz'Goroth. The singers sound authentic to the sound of 3OH!3. If you aren't familiar with 3OH!3 or their song "Don't Trust Me", you might want to check it out to understand why this video is so amazing: Grab the mp3 for yourself and check out the lyrics: Black dress with a knife underneath She's got the breath of her last fish feast on her teeth And she's got pride (pride) and she's got greed She spends all her free time hanging out in BGs P-P-P Poison - instant or deadly While you're still busy casting - she's already won T-Tauren boyfriend because you know she likes beef Look out she wants to group again, bet she'll need a rez again [ - Chorus -] She wants to sap you woh-oh she wants to stab you woh-oh she'll never heal you woh-oh woh-oh oh oh Don't trust a rogue never trust a rogue don't trust a rogue don't trust me Running Naxxs, yeah she used to a lot Now she doesn't need the loot 'cos Widow's Fury just dropped And that lockbox that you want her to pick Don't even go there if you're not gonna tip V-V-V Vanish, no one know's where she's at. Before you turn around you'll feel her knife in your back And the best is (best is) She's got the tricks of the trade Fan of Knives - Adrenalin rush - yeah she's got you made [ - Chorus - ] [ - Zaraeus' breakdown -] Shush girl - shut your lips Open up my lockbox and don't ask for no tips

Free Character Moves on Select Realms

Will the new Orgrimmar be able to meet players needs?Good news everyone! Blizzard has opened up free realm transfers on a few realms: Source A (PvP)
Arthas
Emerald Dream (RP-PvP)
Illidan (Horde Only)
Kel'thuzad
Mal'Ganis (Horde Only)
Tichondrious
Warsong (Horde Only)

Destination A (PvP)

Agamaggan
Anetheron
Auchindoun

Source B (RP)

Moon Guard

Destination B (RP)

Farstriders You have until January 28th to make your move, though they might start closing transfers sooner if enough people move. Get a move on! These are great choices for realm moves. Blizzard obviously have all the data at their disposal to make these decisions, but if the data from warcraftrealms.com is to be believed, Illidan, Mal'ganis, and Warsong are some of the most populated Horde-side realms. Its curious that Arthas and Kel'thuzad are also on that list, as they aren't nearly as populated. The destination realms seem to be very small, and will likely have a big change in culture with players from all of these big servers possibly heading over. I really hope that my home realm of Proudmoore has transfers open up for Alliance players to leave. The estimate is around 20,000 Allies to 5,500 Horde players. Again, these are ballpark numbers. My guild, Taint, has over 5,000 unique members, so its unlikely that these numbers are completely accurate. It doesn't change the fact that our Wintergrasp battles are one versus one hundred, though. And all those Allies clogging my tubes when I'm in Dalaran! /shakefist Have you ever used a free realm transfer?

A Tribute to Addons: WoWHead Looter

A Tribute to Addons is a column featuring new, cool, or useful addons. Send a tweet to @Heartbourne or @Projectlore with your suggestions, or leave a comment. On this edition of A Tribute to Addons, we are looking at the WoWHead client and its accompanying addon, "WoWHead Looter". screen-shot-2010-01-11-at-62558-pm The WoWHead client is very simple. Players can download the Windows or OSX versions from WoWHead, and it automatically puts the addon in the appropriate place. The software does not need to run while you are playing WoW for the addon to work. The addon grabs data from drops you find, quests, items, and other general data, which WoWHead's collects to calculate statistics and locations for the various items and objects in the World of Warcraft. There is no in-game interface; it merely prints a message in your chat frame on startup to let you know its work. Users need only run the software client to upload their data after creating an account on the WoWHead website. Using it helps contribute to the WoW community and provide us all with one of the best WoW database on the Internet, but there were some recent changes that make the WoWHead looter even better. WoWHead launched their Profiler a few months ago, which allowed players to query the Armory and have their Armory information stored on WoWHead, complete with multiple profiles and deep integration with the WoWHead database. Now, the WoWHead looter can gather information about your characters and sync it to the WoWHead Profiler. The new profiles are very slick. Sites that support WoWHead hotlink mouseover tooltips, like Project Lore, allow users to hotlink their characters. The addon grabs nearly all relevant data about your characters, so you can see data like your collected pets, completed quests, and known recipes. Using the vast WoWHead database, you can easily see what "completionist" items you need to obtain, like what quests you need to do, and quickly and easily find out all the information you need to find out about it. The system is all automatic, and the links are very clean and intuitive. For example, check out my non-combat pets, and how to get the ones I'm missing. In audition to the extremely powerful profiles, the same great searching and filtering abilities you know and love from the WoWHead database are present in the profile database. For example, here is a search that showed me everyone on my server who participated in the first Yogg-Saron kill, everyone with the Insane title, and all the skill level 450 engineers. WoWHead looter and profiles have replaced a lot of other services and sites that I use. Are you a fan of the WoWHead profiles?
