Soloing: My First Quests in Northrend, Part One

Project Lore's favorite hunter begins his epic quest to reach level 80 by questing in Northrend, Howling Fjord in this premier episode of Project Lore Soloing.

This is the very first episode of Soloing, a new segment from Project Lore that will cover different aspects of WoW, apart from dungeons and raids. We plan on covering quests, achievements, professions, and anything else you all want to see. If you have suggestions for what you'd like to see on soloing, let us know. Leave a comment or drop a line to editor@projectlore.com

The next episode will be up on Thursday at Noon, PST, so check it out then. Meanwhile, we've got more Oculus tomorrow.

Hey Zand, jist a li'l side note...Check out an addon called LightHeaded, does about the same as tomtom, however it also gives u the comments posted on wowhead for that quest as well as the quests to follow for quest lines

If u want to figure out which quest reward is gonna fetch u more gold then get the addon known as actioneer which is useful in many ways. The goal of the addon is to make u as much gold as possible within reason.

Man, Zand is my new Hero, he seems like hes one of the only Project lore guys Largely dedicatied to WoW.

haw haw zand has to tape himself soloing because the rest of the guys (minus juggynaut) don't want to play anymore. look at their characters on the armory. they'll probably end up paying some chinamen to level their characters for them.

Ah the worm, on my server that is a rarity to see hunters use out of the exotics. Its 90% of the time devilsaurs and corehounds these days replacing the cats of the old days. Also good to see whacky ai of pets still showing its not always directly the hunter's fault for a wipe.

Haven't gotten to Northrend yet due to working on a death knight and a pally in Outland still(and rl issues), so this be a nice preview.

I would just like to say...Dude, sweet stache...keep it up for all of us moustache champs!!!!

Ok Zand one question? Your showing everyone Soloing from the Alliance view of things. How about the Horde side. Can we get some Soloing on the horde side. Oh yea you guys are doing a great Job keep up the great work!!!!!

Great idea, and I'm glad they picked you for it! You make the show very entertaining. :] You guys should also get someone to do the horde side like other people have suggested, although I am Alliance - it would be nice to see what the horde are going through.

Nice idea, but here's a suggestion: A good portion of what Blizzard did for WLK was improve the quality of the quests. As proof we get a great new feature called "phasing" that is used for some of the best questlines to date. While Zand's out with RedWilly (sp?), I think there should be a nice segment for stuff like the Wrathgate/Battle for the Undercity questlines.

Also, while I get the idea of the "solo" segments, doing the show with 2-3 permanent party members would be a better idea. If anything, it'll make the show more interesting.

PS: The guy on hovering above Dorkins was Juggynaut on the Headless Horseman's horse. (GIEF HORSEY! *shakes fist*)

Zand was so cool doing the 10 Days of Knight, and now Soloing in Northrend with him again is purely awesome.

Just a suggestion: when you name addons, it'd be a great thing for us viewers that, in a comment or sth, write the names of those addons or link them to download. Spanish-speaking people like me, who are just starting to learn Engish can't catch up those names.

Best wishes! :D

Instead of questhelper I would have to recommend CarboniteQuest. It's jsut a smidgen better.

Hahah, more Zand questing. One thing I'd like to request, do the voices every so often for quest dialog. Something about that is just too funny. Doesn't have to be every quest though, once an episode or so.

Also, this is the first episode, there was a bit of introduction, so I'm guessing future episodes (which have probably been already recorded at this point) will have more quests done during the episodes.

Oh, and folks, he's got a whole goatee there going on, it's just the chin part is a bit light, and the video compression doesn't do a great job of highlighting it.

Cool stuff Zand! Dig the pedo-stache.

This was a nice little intro to soloing. I noticed that Zand was using Quest Guru which I use as well. It has helped me on many occasions to remember which quests I have already completed, and which rewards I picked from those quests.

As far as Quest Helper, I'm all for it. When I first starting playing WOW, I tried without any addons and I spent more time being frusterated that I could not find who I was looking for that it was not fun to play. If you are really into the lore Quest Helper doesn't stop you from reading the quest information, I just think for some people the lore isn't important, which is kind of sad because the lore brings a whole new experience to the game. Instead of just kill X and collect Y, you know why you are doing it, making the game much more fun.

December 3, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterKalcifer

not really helping me because i started off in borean tundra and there is some mayhem happing there with leviroth and other peoples

December 3, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterJeff

I did Borean Tundra, first -- mainly 'cos I was hangin' in SW a bunch, from LLQ-ing -- 'cos that's where SW Harbour goes; I found my way to Howling Fjord, later...

I did those same Q's yesterday & coulda done with that TomTom (nice name - same as the sat-nav...?) and coulda done with it for a few of the later ones...

Dude; 'tache has appeared & hair has grown - need to get thee to a barbers before that stuff takes over... LOL

December 3, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterJeff

why would anyone who's addicted to WoW watch a video of someone else playing over doing it themselves?
