Just to clarify regarding pulling back a pet, and I know Zand's probably heard this a hundred times already, but don't you just hit the passive button again? Check me hunters.
Haven't played for a long time, but I think you could do a simple macro "/petdefensive /petpassive" and assign that to a hotkey near your petattack button.
