Episode 2.2: Slave Pens

In the continuing saga of Heroic Slave Pens, Project Lore meets up with Mennu the Betrayer and tries to take him down. Will they take out the Mennu or will Project Lore get served? Take a minute to watch as the guys give you strat and one nice fight against the first boss in Slave Pens.

Much more successful this time around! Nice work! Audio levels on Alex's intro is a little low compared to the rest of the video.
Overall, excellent show! My new fav!

this is so far my favorite episode =D. i like that you begin to talk about the LFG and groups ^^. and then a nice take down on the boss.

July 22, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterIlishan

hehe Well said Brian =P oh and it was a great day for Goggins to do Mennu.

July 22, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterIlishan

Nice episode, though generally the strategy is to move him away from the fire totem, so when it dies nobody takes the 7k fire damage, which makes the healer's job much easier.

Loving the show so far guys, but honestly, gotta level out the volume for the transitions. Your voices are whispers, so when I turn up the volume, the transition comes out of no where, scaring the shit out of me.

July 22, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterTarmanydyn

As Toasterstrudull said, normally just move away from the nova totem, also - pull him into the tunnel that u ran into the room through - gives you plenty of room to move :)

Really liked this episode. You guys are funny as hell!

Totems need to be taken out asap except for the fire nova totem... when a fire nova totem pops up melee and tank needs to move out of the aoe range, once it denotes you reposition back.

I was just wondering what interface addon is that called that allows you to have the Bars on the side of the enemy as well as the specific action buttons. If any1 can email me the name of the mod at curse.com to xwarrior70@gmail.com I would really appreciate it =D

This show is awesome!! Although, why does Goggins look so familiar? Keep up the good work.

July 22, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterKyle

Kyle, Goggins looked very familiar to me too, the first time I watched project lore. Originally I thought it was "Crazy Steve" from the Tv show "drake and josh" Or Spencer from the TV show "Icarly" and I did some research and it turns out, it Is! I never would have guessed he played WoW =p

July 22, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterTrimm

Thanks Trimm I now can see it. He just looks difference without the tricked out hair.

This is looking like too much of a challenge. The talking seems sparse and the looks of concentration are evident on all of your faces. The LFG comment seemed pretty staged (albeit true).

What makes this show interesting is not WoW (lets be honest we have all probably already done this content) but the interactions of the players between themselves while playing WoW. The best part of this was you guys talking about LFG or your reactions to the ice lord.

My suggestion is rethink what your show is about, is it about running WoW dungeons or is it the story of the players personalities and the fun that happens IRL to them while playing. IMO, the show needs to be more focused on what happens to the players when they get together for a day of instances and not so much the instance.

There is potential here and I hope you guys [Mana Tap] it.

P.S. Alex get rid of the craptastic tie fighter UI cluttering up the screen. It always seems the hunters UI is the cleanest and easiest to view. Also if possible it would be nice to edit the health bars and just put them over the RL images of the person for quick reference to how they are doing healthwise.

Great work peoples! I liked this episode, but I think I'd enjoy it more if I got a run-down on each of your characters. The Add-on and UI blogs are good but I'd love to see a close-up of, and blurb about your avatars!

And Alex, I love your HUD. I've got the ArcHUD2 which is a little more... Subtle, I want to say... You can program it to disappear when you're OOC, giving you a nice, unobstructed view of the world. Have a look at it, see whatcha think =D

Good job cant wait to see you guys pwn the last boss

July 23, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterOrctastic 70 BM hunter

Love the videos guys. Makes me think back to when I used to have a full group IRL who played wow together weekly.

July 23, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterShane

Damn, I tried 50 times to get that damn totem to drop.. pisses me off. FYI, the healing totem isn't replaced till later 25 man raids :P

July 23, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterToad

Yeah def Alex's volume was low and when you turn it up you get blasted when the cut scene title comes in. Also would love to see a short talk about the add-ons you guys use. All in all though great show!

July 23, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterBrian Self

Other than the occasionally iffy volume levels on the guys' voices, this was probably the best episode yet. =D

Well, I think I'm in disagreement with a lot of the other commentators on this one - I thought the chat about LFG was pointless. We all know the LFG tool sucks. Blizzard knows it. Why spend nearly a full minute talking about it? I hear the same comments on my Vent channel. It could've worked if you guys had had suggestions for a better tool other than saying what you liked about LFG in another game.

I would appreciate more specific info on the boss you are fighting too. You seem to have a pretty competent editor. Could you come up with some graphics highlighting the boss's strengths and weaknesses? Or suggestions as to how different classes can be useful in the fight? Granted this was a pretty simple fight but it would be nice to see more specific info clearly presented for future takedowns.

Keep up the good work guys, I'm enjoying seeing the show progress.

I could see this Project Lore thing being really cool for WotLK but it's kinda pointless to make guide videos for all of the current heroics at this stage. I guess this is a test run to see how the editing/players/concept works?

It's not a bad idea, and it's good not using players who are poopsockers rocking Sunwell gear.

However, using and discussing the best boss strat(s) would be better than having them wing it. Not a lot of non-epic'd groups could have 5 people still standing after eating a Corrupted Fire Totem.

I recommend actually using and showing the strats that experienced players use, yes, even the ones that are semi-exploitative (I doubt the first boss in Mech was meant to be dragged from his room clean over to the stairs for example, or using the stairs to LOS Skarloc in heroic Durnholde so he doesn't maul the casters on a fear).

Hey guys, just want to say keep up the great work. Ignore all the naysayers. While I won't argue that there's probably some tweaking to be done, the content is good. And just because "some people" have already done all these instances, doesn't mean everyone has.

I love the banter, keep it coming! (and of course couldn't agree more Re:LFG).

I would echo some of the comments that maybe a bit more strategy in how other classes or specs might, other than the obvious, might attack some situations.. although I can see how that'd be a pretty big undertaking, in the time allotted.

One suggestion, you should probably mention in the video itself that you're putting up guides on the site accompanying (I presume) each instance.
