New Episode! 2.3: Slave Pens

The third part of episode 2 is now available! Rokmar the Crackler manages to kill one of our heroes in this episode. Can you guess which one? If you need a little more info on the shortcut the boys took, go to the secret tactics section of our Slave Pens Guide. If you've got other tactics they didn't use, let me know.

Rokmar is in for a surprise as the guys do some ninja work and sneak into his home.

i really like how the camera keeps switching between characters (in game). i was wondering instead of having to go to wows sight to look up your characters stats and gear if u could have a link to all of them on your site, just a suggestion thatd make my life easier and yours 10 times harder :D

I just want to point out that the shortcut shown in the video actually most of the time ends up being a longcut, of sorts. If (I should say when) someone misses the ledge, he ends up in the water and he has to walk quite a bit to get back up there to try again. What I mostly do is kill the two big ones, then avoid the pat that goes from left to right, jump in the water, kill the walking pat down there, then go around, kill the 2 mobs and then clear up to the boss. This way you have way less chance of screwing up the shortcut, and it's only 2 pulls more in fact!

For the rest, really great video this time. The most important stuff on the boss got explained and I love just how well the biggest problem of this boss got illustrated (the tank dying of the bleed effect while discussing the loot).

Keep up the good work!

Just a suggestion... I think there needs to be some tinkering done to the sound. The volume when you guys are talking sounds really quiet in comparison to everything else.

Regardless, best episode yet. =]

Aww man, that episode was so funny. Goggins letting the tank die on purpose and then explaining what happened. :D

But I need to complain about the sound, too. :o I always have to turn up the volume to understand you guys talking and then BAAM BOSSSS STRAT is blowing out my ears. It's kinda annoying but i suppose you're already working on that. :P

Project Lore rocks! ;D

Hey guys, the sound issues are being looked at. The map is not an addon but is actually a part of the show :)

The shortcut is hardly a shortcut. You skip a whopping 3 trash pulls. 4 if you count the pat right before you would normally jump, but you can skip them anyways so 3.

and if somebody doesn't make the jump you gotta wait for them to run allllll the way back around. Or if somebody aggros the two pat while jumping, say hello to all the mobs in the entire instance as they run around to get to you.

All in all if you've made it that far you can take another 3 trash pulls. Its safer and potentially quicker

Guys I gotta tell ya. I've watched all the episodes on PL so far and I'm still wondering what you are really trying to accomplish - with the videos I mean.

I get that you don't want to get into too much detail on certain aspects because by now "people should know" but the little orange box is really the only time actual informaton is being expressed other than Alex's brief description of the boss enounters.

I'd recommend you do the walkthrough segments as you are and then have a debrief after the fact using dungeon maps and 'tele-strater' explanations of what is going on as you collectivelly watch the video of what you've just done. This can be edited down obviously but right now I'm not seeing there being much value in this entire exercise.

Watching people down bosses is like watching paint dry and it is difficult to undertand what is going on at times by virtue of the fact tha tthe screen size is so small.

And hey, how about a mods identification segment highliting the different mods in use for each class. The assumption that all higher level players use the same mods is incorrect.

There's other things I'd suggest but out of the gate I think you need to hit the reset button and highlight what it is you're really trying to do. If it's to educate great - this format is not doing that. If it's to just show off end game content then I'd rather just play than watch over your shoulders.

Alex - what is the value proposition here??? You can do better.

Hey guys,

Been watching the show a bit and only have one or two things to say about it. In this episode you did Crackler and your forgot to mention that he does an AoE frostbolt. I apreciate you don't want to get into to much detail but small stuff like that would be nice to get in while you're explaining that he's a giant Crackler.

One other thing is that you tend to laugh at your own jokes. If they were funny I wouldn't care :P.

I watch the show mainly because I like to watch 5 guys talk about crap while playing WoW. You all seem to be decently funny guys so I'm gonna keep watching.

p.s. Phil above me does seem to make a solid point but I'm not too fussed about it. (seems to care too much!)
