Noblegarden Achievements and Taking Out the RNG

Noblegarden started on Sunday, and if you're like me, you want that Violet Proto Drake, which means you'll have to get your egg hunt on. Being a late addition to the Long, Strange Trip world event meta-achievement, the collection of achievements required to attain "the Noble" title was quite certainly affected by feedback from the player community regarding other similar achievements. If you remember, many players were upset that they had to rely heavily on the Random Number Generator (RNG) for certain parts of the other holiday meta-achievements. Luckily, Blizzard recognized this fact and both retroactively changed the Fool for Love achievement and decided against including random achievements in the Noble Gardener meta-achievement.
While there are still Noblegarden achievements that do rely on the RNG - Sunday's Finest and Dressed for the Occasion - they are not part of the Meta. This means it is basically possible - even with the worst of luck - to brute force your way to the title, getting one step closer to that 310% flying mount. Breaking it down, you'll have to open the following number of eggs to complete all of the required achievements:
100 for eating (Required for Chocoholic)
100 for Spring Rabbit's Foot (Required for Spring Fling)
50 for Spring Flowers (Required for Shake Your Bunny-Maker)
50 for Spring Robes (Required for Desert Rose)
5 for Noblegarden Egg (Required for Noble Garden)
This totals out to 305 eggs, which will take a bit of a time investment. If you manage to find an egg every 15 seconds, that will come out to over an hour of egg hunting. If you have more trouble finding the eggs, it will take even longer. Remember, this is the maximum number of eggs you'll have to open. Most people I talked to got at least one required item within the first 50 or so eggs they opened, so you'll probably need to open fewer eggs. By the time I had looted 300 eggs, I already found nearly everything I needed from the eggs, so I purchased the last thing I needed - the spring flowers - and picked up the Spring Circlet to complete my collection.
All of the other items you'll need for achievements are obtainable through other means. The Tuxedo Shirt, Tuxedo Pants, and Elegant Dress are all tradeable, meaning you can get Blushing Bride for a few coins at the auction house or even free if you find a generous person who will loan or give you a tux. Remember, though, you will not get Sunday's Finest or Dressed for the Occasion unless you specifically loot the items from eggs. The Blossoming Branch is a reward for the daily quest to turn in 20 egg shells and can be used on other players to help them get Hard Boiled. Remember to find someone who has one in their inventory to help you get that one. The Spring Circlet, for 50 chocolates, is not used in any achievements. Mages may want to collect the Tome of Polymorph: Rabbit, which can be purchased for another 100 chocolates.
Even though the requirements for the meta-achievement are not completely dictated by the RNG like Be Mine! was, they can still take a significant amount of time to complete. I'd estimate that it took me three to four hours to complete all of them, including collecting eggs, traveling, and finding all of those females for Shake Your Bunny-Maker. So, do you guys prefer having alternative ways of getting items in addition to the RNG, or would you rather just leave out the randomness completely? Or heck, would you prefer all of it to be in fate's hands?

This holiday is one of the easiest yet. I have done it on my main and parts of it on 7 alts. I don't camp spawns, run around the Horde areas like a crazy person finding tons of eggs.
I did notice that some people have no idea how to find eggs. If they are not in plain sight they run right by them.
Also, I am a Tauren Female...we do exist
Only had to loot 200ish eggs here - some things dropped, others bought with choc.
Hardest part was trying to find a female dwarf.
Hallows End is still the best/most fun holiday event so far imo.
I looted over 400+ eggs over a 3 day period and never got anything other than spring branch. I think my toon was bugged. I ended up having to buy everything from the Noblegarden vendor. You can imagine my frustration.
I got the title in 3 hours after logging in when it was already on and got all the items needed from the eggs, only thing I had a tough time getting was the Elegant Dress for Dressed for the Occasion... I knew it wasnt required for the meta obviously, but since it was the only one left in the list I just couldn't make myself just leave as it is... I HAD to get that last bit too (achievement addict, I confess) it took over 1400+ eggs for the dress, my mage and dk both got it in 40th egg or so
I like this achievement I'm a female dwarf lvl 80 and was teased since lvl one its about time we got some props. We are now loved.
At this rate we all ought to get a 310 mount just for logging on. My first impression of the 310 mount for completing Long Strange Trip was that it was a fitting reward for those who dedicated themselves to the achievement. After all, if memory serves me correctly the only other way to get a 310 mount was to win the roll on Ashes (like THAT drops regularly =P) or to have an arena reward mount (which goes to what, the top .5% or somethig insane like that?). The point is the 310 mount was rare and special.
Then Blizz took out the brew of the month Brewfest requirement when people complained. Then it took out the Hallow's End mask requirement when people complained. Then it changed the candy requirement from Love is in the Air when people complained. Now they've just gone and made it so that you GUARANTEE completing Noblegarden if you're willing to do the grind. So much for 310 mounts being special. Everyone and their mother will have one so what's the point? I busted my a$$ trying to hammer out all of the original achievements necessary for the respective metas and when I didn't get them all, I was OK with it because I believe a 310 mount should ot just be handed over. There WERE people that completed ALL of the necessary metas before they were changed. Luck and effort were on their side. They were deserving. To eliminate luck for the 310 mount starts you down the slippery slope. Where does it end? Lots of groups come one fight away from the Immortal, but bad luck bites them in the a$$. They don't get their title. Blizz doesn't nerf the achievement to allow just one or two deaths. So why the changes for the mount.?
It really bugs me to the point I haven't started any of the Noblegarden achievements. My plan is to wait for Blizz to change the requirements for completing Trip and getting the 310 mount to "You get all the necessary achievements if you at least THOUGHT ABOUT doing them." That seems fair, right? Maybe enough of us just gotta complain about it. =P
Ha I finished this holiday on this first day it came out, it really isn't that hard at all to do. In fact If i'm correct, you don't have to be level 80 to complete it. Good luck and if you need help on this holiday for information check out wowhead.com thats were I went.
For Merry Maker and Hallowed, I am just missing the PvP aspects to clear them out of my log. I would have gotten the Love Fool done had it not been for a slight problem with a tech guy and his not wanting to give my computer back after my upgrade.
So I won't finish the Long Strange Trip this year, big deal! I\ll just do it next year and see what new stuff comes out to do ^_^
Did I mention I'm an achievement whore?
I got noble yesterday, I only bought the tuxedo pants and the rabbit after I bought the rabbit it dropped in an two/three times all of the items drop in the eggs.
Even though I have the noble title I only need tuxedo pants to drop in an egg to officially complete all the noble garden achievements.
also I only started it on monday night so it took less than 5 hours or so to complete once you add up game ime and alot of that was travelling and finding a female orc.
Just a tip for doing Shake Your Bunny-Maker. If you don't want to wait the five minutes for the item to cooldown, sign up for an arena 2v2 skirmish. Since the items cooldown is 5 minutes or under it resets, so you can just sign up and leave and it'll be back off cooldown. You won't get Deserter debuff since it's a skirmish, so you can do it all you need.
I started doing Noblegarden about an hour after it had started. Got some of the stuff, such as the Elegant Dress, White Tuxedo Shirt, and Spring Robe. So that took about an hour in itself. Then my twin and I ran all the way from Bloodhoof Village to Golakka Springs because we weren't sure if the wand effect would count towards Hard Boiled (yes, we know better now). Grinded for the Chocoholic and got the Blushing Bride achievement a couple days later with the help of my brothers. I still have yet to get the Shake Your Bunny-Maker and Spring Fling. Due to Blizzard's failure to either create more spawn areas or increase the spawn rate, I have trouble grinding the eggs I need to pick up both the basket and the bunny. My best bet at this point has been to find a decent spot and camp it. Kinda takes the fun out of it, ne?
Sorry for the double post. I forgot to include it in my first.
@lawman30
Just because people complain doesn't necessarily mean that they're not dedicated. Goodness knows I grinded and grinded for the Be Mine! achievement, only to NEVER GET IT (even with the retroactive change). It was the only one I needed for the meta-achievement, too, sadly. Going to have to wait a whole another year to attain it.
So yes, I believe in rewarding dedication, lawman30. But I'll let you in on a little something: the RNG itself is blind to whether a person is working hard or just being a lazy bum. Do you you want to see a person get a hard achievement easy because s/he merely had the luck of the draw?
I was in a raid when the event started but once I saw that achievement come across guild chat I knew I wasn't getting any sleep that night. As soon as we closed down for the night I mage ported to org to find nothing but campers in razor fin. So I decided to check out brill, bingo. Everyone was just running around grabbing eggs, about 2 and half hours into it we got a few lame campers setting up tents at spawn locations. I just left them there I was getting 10 eggs running around to their one spawn. More often than not they were covering to many eggs and I would arrive just as one was spawning to take it from them, good times... Lots of luck on my side as I was saving up for the most expensive item it was looking like I would need to save for the robes next but on what I thought was my last eggo for the tome of plymorph the robes dropped. Leaving me to find one more egg and head off to complete the none egg related pieces.
When my wife and I saw the first "I Found One!" achievement pop up we knew that we were in for a long night of egg hunting. She works overnights and had the night off so it was perfect for her and she got her title within the first 12 hours of Noble Garden being released, I got mine when I woke up the next morning. Sort of luck based as I was almost having to buy my pet for the bunny achievement but lucked out in the morning with RNG. Something that a lot of people don't get is that you don't have to do every achievement for the holiday event to complete the meta achievement for the Title/mount. Things being tradeable for the blushing bride and things being purchasable with chocolates made it either a matter of time or RNG so I'm pretty happy with how it's going myself.
i got my title but i had to camp while i was dead like 2 hours at the orgrimmar bank to find a ugly orc then i get the title and get killed and everybody was spiting me =(
i still got 182 eggs 2 bunnies and 2 spring tuxedo suit
i think noblegarden is the coolest world event that i have taken part in. it is good for all levels, even a levl 6 priest. There are a ton of eggs in Falconwing Square for horde 1 every 15 would not be a problem!!!!
I spent about a half hour getting chocolates together for the bunny before I got him as a random drop. He sucks, just too plain and average :(
I like that they took out the pain of RNG, but the event still fails IMO. This is mainly due to the fact that you can only find eggs in a very small amount of space, around very few starting zones.
I think the best location to Farm the eggs as a Horde, is in Falconwing behind the cart or trailer or w/e it is next to the Weapon seller on the right side of the Inn. Theres a potential of 5 to 7 eggs you can farm over and over.
@Alayea
That's EXACTLY what I'm saying. Luck SHOULD be part of something special like a 310 mount. At this rate it's going to end up being harder to get the blue proto drake (a 280 mount) than it is to get the violet proto drake (the 310 mount). How the hell does that make any sense? Oh sure, it takes longer to get the violet but big deal...ANY ONE CAN GET IT! My point is that the way it was set up originally, it not only took an INCREDIBLE amount of time and effort to complete the meta achievements but it also took some luck. That is fitting for being GIVEN a 310 mount. Now you eliminate the luck and just make it so that a simple grind gets you soething that good?!?! That is bass ackwards to me. It doesn't just take skill to get Immortal it takes luck, too. You need to not have anyone dc or, god forbid, lag out in boss fights. You need to not have the server crash (which certainly isn't always a given). Think Blizz is gonna give everyone in your raid the Immortal title just because bad luck caused someone to lag and they dided in the red circles of doom on KT? Yeah right. Blizz will tell you "sorry, better LUCK next time." Luck is inectricably linked to a lot of the high end rewards and I certainly think a 310 mount fits that bill.
I'm sure most people are thrilled with the changes because it means completing Trip is exponentially easier now. If the goal is to just hand out proto drakes, make it so you can buy the green one from the Oracle egg instead of needing luck to have it hatch. Make the blue one a 100% drop if you kill Skaddi within a certain period of time after starting the gauntlet (kinda like the bronze drake) instead of needing luck to have it drop. Explain to me why it makes sense that more people will have violet proto drakes than blue ones or green ones. It doesn't. They should have left it the way it was. That's my opinion.
If you sit there waiting for an egg to respawn, you are an idiot. Your best bet is to find a handful of spawn points and run between them.
Also, do it during non-prime time if you can when there are fewer people competing for eggs. ...and do it in an area without a lot of people (like the BC starting towns and NOT Thorn Hill or Goldshire.)
...but good luck finding female orcs and tauren. I wasted about 5 charges on male tauren because they've all got about the same build and the addition of headgear makes it impossible to tell when they're running by.
