Hmmm I'm intrigued as to what other dailies he partakes in, since I'm not a jewel crafter myself.

By the way, the video is up here and on iTunes but it's not on the main page. Should someone like Juggy come across this before it's corrected.

April 9, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterSean

April 9, 2009 | Unregistered Commenteroaky

Man, Doing the Dailies is SO much more boring then Achievementalogy...

Can I just say Ebon is pronounced Eh-Buh-N. Not Ee-Bon.
It's been bugging me for a long time.

Anyways, great job. =]

I'm eager to see what else the level 80 dailies entail !
(being a level 70 mage).
Great Job on the video, yet again.
I'm thrilled to see another series hosted by Dorkins.
I loved your 10 days of Knight, btw.
^.^

well that was.... boring...

seriously these episodes are way too short and the quests and stuff that is done is way too easy to make vids about xD

I only like the dungeon vids (and brk baby-hunter, r.i.p. i guess) but they often are a bad example instead of a good example

April 9, 2009 | Unregistered Commenterharmloos

Ok, so, the concept is cool about doing dailies. However, you should show the folks just how fast and efficiently you CAN do dailies by doing the fastest, most awarding ones.

A few examples would be all 6 of the Sons of Hodir dailies, which can easily be done in 20-30 minutes. And numerous "bunched" dailies in Icecrown.

I remember doing my full-25 daily circuit in less than 2 hours! (Cooking/JCing, Sons of Hodir, and select Icecrown dailies!)

BTW Dorkins, for the "Shifting Sun Curio" JC daily there is a nice group of undead night elves right below dalaran that have a good drop rating....

I found that out one day when i left dalaran, and was playing around with my flight form, seeing how close to the ground i could get before shifting back into bird form.... needless to say i didnt make it.....

PS... WTT all my chalcedony/shadow crystals/dark jades for gems that are actually useful..... amirite? :D

Sorry, but I literally just don't get the point.

I literally saw an ad for this video and the title sounded funny, so i literally went ahead and clicked on it, literally expecting some form of machinma with a lovable yet hapless hero in the style of ImaNewbie. The hero would literally go ahead and try to complete his daily quest, and literally go ahead and fail in one of many hilarious ways (possibly even getting killed by some evil PKers in grey robes).

Literally instead, it's literally a video of a literal guy, who goes ahead and does one of the most boring and simple quests in the game (one step above a "go and see X" quest) and literally goes ahead and explains every little step literally involved.

Now maybe I'm being unfair, because I literally couldn't watch the whole thing without go(ahead)ing insane, but why why why does this video exist? Literally who needs help to go ahead and do this quest?

April 9, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterKLEBESTIFT

Literally every literal word in literally that entire post was literally annoying.... literally. Go ahead... literally....

The "Dorkins does dailies" series of episodes clearly aren't meant for players who have been 80 for months... its meant to show fresh 80s the options they have in terms of dailies. Give the series some time, dont bash it when there has only been 2 episodes so far. Its on a PvP server so im sure it wont be too long before Dorkins runs into some hordie with a grudge.

Sorry if every video on the net doesnt live up to your high standards, but if u dont like it you are free to go do something else. Like go search youtube. I'm sure every video there is worth its bandwidth......

@RancidPandemic

The defence of the PL team sometimes seem religious. They can do nothing wrong and if they do it's the way it's meant to be. I have a level 70 toon doing these jewelcrafting quests, you don't need to be level 80, plus if you can't figure out how to do this one yourself you probably didn't level it up yourself.

It's better if we express our opinion right away, before the series turn into garbage.

April 10, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterZander

For example I don't even play WoW, but still it is interesting to watch, what is new in the game and how the PL guys do it.

why oh why would i ever want to see a guy do dailys? seriously why? Achivmentology loved it, was very informative told people how and where to do the various achivments and quite fun to watch aswell but all the people inculding myself thats 80 does this every single day..why the hell would i want to watch someone else do it to? littely all i see is some hunter doing what he would otherwise do anyway, no real information..no fun..its the same thing as watching a football game with no commentator..booooring. i'm sure you a busy man and all but seriously this is just to low. Your a hunter why not make something like..dorkin's inner animal..where you speak about a new pet lets say every week. talk about their various abilitys and how and when their good to use. I'd watch that it would be pretty sweet, informative not just braindead intertainmant. but this..well if you watch this you have to fail epicly no offence i can see if your not lvl 80 that you can get something whatever little thing out of it, but if you accually play wow on the 80ish lvl this is totally useless in any way and form it really is.(sorry for the wall of text)

As an engineer, I'm insanely jealous of jewelcrafters. Leaving aside the whole "JC is useful to all specs of all classes after level 60" thing which blows Engineering's "Sometimes useful to the engineer and only the engineer" I really like your daily quests. You get to go do something that is directly Jewelcrafting related and you get Dragon Eyes and tokens.

I would love to see something similar for every profession, but I think engineering's would go something like this. You would go to the Engineering shop in Dalaran and your Goblin or Gnomish trainer would say something like "I love the old Gnomish cloaking device, but it is so cold up here in Northrend that being cloaked can sometimes freeze you solid. I have an Idea though. Bring me two cloaking devices, three Arctic Furs, and one cloak. We'll see if I'm on to anything." You bring the guy the stuff he wants and he gives you GEEK or MEGA engineering tokens and a box of parts. The box contains most anything you can make with 350+ engineering, with the exception of Flying Machines and Motorcycles. I'd allow for (rarely) motorcycle parts.

Alternately, the guy can give you the completed experimental device and ask you to test it like those quests in Borean with the airstrip.

You then get to use your tokens to buy upgraded Northrend recipes that act as updates to your old stuff. Cloaking Devices, Mechanical Sheep, Saronite Proto-drakes, etc.

To go off on a tangent: I'm in love with the tinker system. Give a passive that is slightly weaker than the always-on enchanting but an On Use that acts almost like the extra trinkets we've been clamoring for. That fits the "Makes existing stuff better" part of engineering.

Back on topic, love the show. Keep up the good work!

Dorkins, Zand! Spice this series up a bit, we need epic VO for the daily quest dialog. You can do it! Always a crowd favorite. :)

April 10, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterBlight

I'm sorry if my faith in the PL guys seems religious (haha, i made a pun) but i have seen almost all of their videos and, while some may start out a little slow, they never seem to disappoint. I just think its too early in the Dorkins does dailies series to be calling it crap.

Oh, and im not referring to the posts that offer up suggestions on how to improve the series, im talking about the posts from random people who are just posting to call it useless.

I like Dorkins style. - i just started playing wow. and believe it or not he makes everything clear. the quest is not so boring if you have someone doing it with you.. even if your soloing. keep up the good work.. I have a troll hunter. and a blood elf pally..
after watching all the episodes it was the. horde videos that really inspired me to try the game. the lower lvl stuff is extremely fun hope i ride it out till 80.

thanks guys

what realm are you playing on dorkins cause id love to be on a realm where there is absolutely no lagg in dalaran

April 11, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterDragzeez

He's on Executus. It's (probably) not lag that you experience in Dalaran. More than likely, it's the massive detail, and huge amount of textures that have to be drawn by your computer that cause choppiness in your FPS (Frames Per Second). Lag is what is caused by your connection. If your connection slows down, it starts missing data from the server (and consequently doesn't get data to the server in time). This is about a high latency. You could be running around Dalaran at 1 FPS and still be able to instantly talk to vendors, take portals ect if you had a good connection, however, it's possible to be running around at 60 FPS and still have to wait on taking portals, trading with players and all that other junk because your latency is high.

TL;DR Lag =/= Low FPS

It woudl be more useful if you showed all four JC dailies...
