WoWFlix: N00b Boyfriend

I think we've all brought that special someone home to our parents only to have them shot down for not playing WoW.

What really jumped out to me was Mrs. Leet commenting that this boy who watches VHS tapes and uses a corded phone "might as well play Alliance." The first time I checked out Project Lore, I was severely disappointed that it was a group of Alliance characters plowing through dungeons. Somehow, this stigma of Alliance attracting n00bs and young kids while the Horde attracts a more "mature" audience is ingrained into my way of thinking. I've really tried to level Alliance characters, but having played Horde for years I can't get over my biases.

For all you Alliance players out there, do you still watch VHS tapes and use corded phones?

Meh, I feel more noobs play horde nowadays than alliance. It kinda flipped around somewhere in TBC with them blood elves coming into the picture.

But I guess it usually requires a.. more mature mindset to start playing with a faction that's more "bad" or in the grey area. Some (and this is immature) people feel the need to be good through playing a character that is on the side of light and goodness. But humans are really more complicated and there's definitely good and evil in everyone - thus a faction that identifies with problems, but has principles and acts in a "noble way" (orcs), is much more realistically humane.

Or then you can just go by the coolness-factor, and how cool is a talking, bipedal, big cow?

I guess it depends on which server u play. In mine, Bloodscalp (pvp), It seems Horde are all kids, basically because of the large amount of camping on lowbies by the full ulduar epic 80's. But to be honest the thing that gets me irritated is their philosophy, "let's gank around as much as we can in a group, but if there are equal numbers let's run away".

Really they only want to pvp when there is no chance for them to loose at al, and being a holy paly does not help :(

Great Video!! That is going to be me in couple of years when my daugther starts dating, "You don't play WoW, get the hell out of my house"!!!!

As far as the whole who has more noobs, Alliance or Horde, I think it pretty much equals out if you take into account all of the servers. On my server, Nesingwary, the Alliance outnumbers us 3 to 1 and it always seem they are the ones camping in the starting zones, killing all of the NPCs and any lowbie that gets in their way which is something older (not necessary more mature) players don't have time for. Older players have jobs and responsibilities so when we do find time to play, we try to be as productive as possible, either raiding or lvling professions. Personally, I've got better things to do than camp on lowbies.

I tried to level an Alliance, but Horde is much more interesting.

For the Horde!

i play ally beacause my friends were playing ally, i used to play horde on private server before i staarted for real, but it kinda grows on you, and i dont know if noobs and kids all chose to play ally, i think there are more fanboy noobs on horde nowadays, FOR THE NEUTRAL FACTIONS!

lol i think its kinda funny that every one always thinks that the horde side has a higher percentage of adults playing it but thats really not true at all at this point while back when wow first came out there were more younger kids playing alliance now horde is just a choice and it varies between realms i have been on some realms that if you ask every one in org 80% of them will say their younger than 14 but on my realm (daggerspin) my guild has 100+ people with mics (mics because i asked over vent) and even with out asking (but i did anyways) most of them are 16+ (calling 16 adult) regardless of 16 a lot of people that play arnt even over 25!

I'm sorry to burst your bubble but choosing Horde doesn't mean you are more mature....

I know moms and dads that play Alliance so...

And yes i play Alliance...
I tried Horde but it didn't do it for me...

Altough sometimes in PVP i wish i was on the horde side. This i got to admit they play better in team in Battlegrounds. We are too individualistic...

I see Alliance players as the younger kids and noobs, Horde as the rebellious teens, and then people eventually mature and are Alliance again.

Of course, there are plenty of exceptions...but I think Alliance gets both the noobs AND the more mature players. Horde gets the ones in between.
