How Are You Spending the Downtime?
While I am very much in the same boat, like hell I'm going to stop playing the game! So I have been trying to find a few activities to keeping me going.
In the short term, I have been spending my days grinding the Kodo mount for Brewfest. I have over 200 kills and still have yet to see the thing drop, I'm beginning to suspect the cake is a lie. I imagine I will get it eventually, and if not, Brewfest will ultimately come to an end. Soon I will be looking for other alternatives.
I have been trying to stay positive and look at this as a good excuse to catch up on those things I have always been meaning to do. I'm talking about all those projects I have always meant to get around to, but never did because I was busy raiding. Here is my list of things I think I will finally be able take a shot at:
Netherwing - I want to finally grind out the Netherwing Dailies, and get my nether drake. Although I must admit, with all the new mounts on the horizon, my desire here is waning a bit.
Fishing / Cooking - I have played around with the idea of leveling my fishing and cooking. It seems like a good way to make some cash and be able to make all that tasty raid food. Problem is I hate fishing, so I guess this one is just a matter of how bored I get.
Farming Gold - The last thing I could even thing to do on my main is stockpile gold. Certainly not a bad approach, but I question what is going to happen to the WoW economy, and if this will pay off in the long run.
Alts - I have a Rogue that is closing in on 70 fast, and want to make her a priority. I have a few others sitting in 60 range that I may have time to get up there as well.
New Professions - With the prices on the AH falling through the floor (at least on Executus), this isn't a bad time to powerlevel a new profession on one of my alts, and I've always wanted to try Jewelcrafting. For some it may be a good time to push to 375 on your main.
Roll Horde - I've always wondered how the other half lives.
I'm sure there are lots of other worthy projects that would be worth taking on during this time. So tell me, what are you guys doing? Have you come up with a productive way to spend your WoW time? Please don't tell me you are still raiding... I may become incredibly jealous.

Well for me there is my goal in game. Which is to complete all quests, and be exalted with all possible factions (and of course max hated with the rest).
So as you can guess im grinding all the quests i can find.
And I'd like to think that i made a nice big dent in the numbers.
alt is the way to go =D
my computer crashed...then refused to turn back on....well the motherbord was fried and so was the turn on power source..so im stuck with an old labtop.. but i was farming for my gyro-balanced khorium destroyer. but sense WOLK is comming out soon and i should have wow and my computer back up by then. was only 6 khorium away from it. arg annoying :( QQ
Well right now im just farming gold, doin the brewfest boss and getting my rep up w/ factions. Simple and easy as that. Not much else to do as all of the gear will be obsolete in a month. *sad face*
@Redaurora
"The cake is a lie" phrase is from Portal, a Half-Life mod. In the game, the computer running the tests is trying to kill you after you survive past the point that it (computer) wanted you to die. So, it attempts to lure you to your death with promises of a party with cake! However, previous test subject(s) scratched into the metal walls that "the cake is a lie".
Essentially, it means do not believe all that you hear.
@Bastosa
You should go do the Netherwing dailies, even if you don't really feel like pursuing the nether drake anymore. You get better gold payouts on average than those for the SSO.
I've already rolled a new main and farmed up a hell of a lot of gold to get my epic mount, i definitely say grinding new professions is a good way to go anything that will help at 80 is worth doing now. ^^
I'm being boring (mebbe) & grinding Faction rep. in Azeroth...
... also has the benefit of
A) kitting out my alts., in greens & gathering cloth for my Tailor 'lock alt (specifically), &
B) farming ores/bars for the switch to Blacksmithing on my Warrior Main - not a great fan of PvP so I'm thinking I'm gonna have to MAKE kit rather than spend years in BG's to earn Honor points... :/
Roll horde:)
It's alot different experience and from my own experience the Horde love to slay Allince players. Good luck.
well i want to say congrats on seeing the first blog post that didnt yell first! or second! as a comment, i would like to thank god, my family, all the bloggers and wow players who helped make this happen. *tears* i look foward to the other blogs.
@Alayea
Buddy.... a good explanation of the origin of "the cake is a lie", but you should have had a huge SPOILER ALERT disclaimer on that one!!!
I pity those who hadn't played through the game first, it was a blast, even as short as it was.
personally i have been raiding and trying to get to T4 before nov 13th. (just got the pvp gear) other than that i've also helped out guildies and try to get motivated to lvl all of my 11 alts.
I started out strong farming dailies, but lately I've just been leveling alts and QQing about having to farm the gold for their mounts.
Dailies really burnt me out when I farmed the 2 Epic Flyers on my 70's, so I feel like my cute little alts won't have their flying mounts for a bit :-)
I was really happy to hear about the honor being reset because I hate bgs and I wanted to cap the honor anyways for level 80, but now I wont have to go through the pain of loosing 4,000 times :-)
Oh noooo honor does count now? Crap... lol. Now I've got to farm bgs QQ.
@Ahirum
...I actually didn't about that. :oops:
[Please insert "think" between "didn't" and "about". >_>]
