No More Brewfest

This Brewfest Kodo is not mine.Last night at 12am server time, the new and improved Brewfest event packed up and left town. Pop your head out of Ironforge or Orgrimmar and you'll see that those in charge really take the "Leave only footprints" idea to a whole new level. Anyone who hasn't logged on might not even know that Brewfest was around, unless they take a glance around town and see tons of ram and kodo footprints.

And speaking of those mounts, how many of you ended up with one or both of them? How many tries did it take you. I, for one, had a miserable time looking for the kodo. I spent a couple of days leeching other people's summons of the boss, often with everyone's favorite Paladin Tank on Executus who also blogs on Project Lore, Bastosa, hoping that the RNG (random number generator)  would be kind enough to allow the kodo to drop and would bless me with the highest roll. The first half didn't happen once in the first 13 and three quarters days.

However, last night, around, 11:55pm server time. I had just brought in some fresh blood, Lylelovett, to help summon. We were running low on both time and guildies who hadn't done the daily quest Save Brewfest. We managed to find one more person with one more alt who would be able to activate the boss and give us one more shot at a kodo. The rogue insulted Coren to activate the encounter. Lylelovett tanked. Talonni did some poor DPS. I did some ass kicking. Quedy healed. A kodo dropped. Everyone need. Rolls:

Talonni rolls a 3.

Juggynaut rolls a 30.

Lylelovett rolls a 90.

Quedy rolls a 99.

The rogue passes (it's an alt).

Sad times for this shaman. We managed to start one more attempt at 11:59, and one of the lame trinkets dropped.

Well, there's always Hallow's End.

Meh, it's only a mount, if you want it just for the reason of having it then you probably don't really deserve it. just imagine those people who collect the things to lose out on getting those two extra mounts. TBH i didn't even really bother trying to get the mounts, waste of time and effort for something that only proves you farmed an easy as boss a few thousand times. you want to show your pro get rank 1 in arena and then you'll get respect.

SHIT I DIDNT USE ALL MY TOKENS!! oh wells i got the stuff i needed, aka the pony keg, hehe.

Bummer on the kodo luck! At least you got a shot at it before the event ending. I was hoping to take a last stab at getting the remote on my main, but ended up being too late to even try. It is a fantastic-looking mount and hopefully you'll have better luck next year.

@andrew - Not everyone wants a mount because it's a status symbol. I wanted a bear before the Amani one was even available, and I wanted that mount regardless of what having one meant.

@Phiinixa - There's still a vendor in IF (and probably one someplace in Org as well) in the inn who will still take your tokens.

@andrew

wow ur a ass he spent all that time not to get the mount he wanted while people that got it on there first try. he deserves it more then them. also have u gotten number one on a arena team. 5s dont count casue thats easysause.

I only saw the kodo and ram mounts one time each. It was when myself and most of my guildies were doing that daily for the first time. On top of that, we got a mount drop on the 2nd and 3rd kills. (A fellow guildie in my group forgot to pass on the second drop, so she ended up with both of the mounts. Bummer.)

Anyway, I'm just glad that Brewfest is finally over. I don't know if I'll even bother with the Hallow's End seasonal event; that's how burned out I am.

I got it, without even trying to get it. Got it after my 9th time. It dropped.. we all rolled need, I won it. Big whoop. No faster than my pally epic. Although not having a GCD after mounting up is nice.

October 4, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterExeed

I had them both within the first 3 days... I rolled a 99 on the ram the 2nd day and a 97 on the kodo the 3rd day of the event. But I spent the rest of brewfest grinding with friends and getting them the mounts too!

October 4, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterMaivara

lol i'm not even an ass i'm just saying grinding an easy as boss for a mount doesnt mean anything. theres a only a few who were lucky enough to win the actual roll doesn't mean they deserve it either. just cause u spend a whole lot of time to get something doesn't mean you are top priority for it. it just comes down to whether your lucky or not. its only a mount anyways, when wotlk comes out no ones gona care at all.

I was the lucky one. I did 12 runs and got my Kodo. I rolled 55 and the tank rolled 55. And the by a stroke of fate i got my kodo. I got the ram last year. Just managed to get 200 tokens together so im also now a member of Brew of the month clup. Happy times awaits.

The ram mount dropped once form me and I played the Brew Boss daily with my rogue, priest and Paladin each and every day as long Brew festival was there, ofcourse I did not win it then.

A guild friend had both mounts drop on his first boss kill but did not win any of them ethier.

Well got most of the trinkets I wanted atleast except for the priest where the healing trinket never wanted to drop at all when playing her, but did drop plenty of times with my rogue and pally ofcourse.

I have a funny kodo mount story.I decided to try the brewfest boss on my mage that I had just leveled to 70 grabbed some guildmates and headed to BRD.We all have pretty much tier 6 gear so the boss was insanely easy to kill didn't drop the first time nor the second. But finally on our last try it dropped we all rolled for it and I rolled a solid 100 and got the mount the guild members were so angry they gkicked me because they didn't win a freaking mount. *sigh* ahh well I still love sitting by the bank in OF and noobs are all like "wow howd you get that thats a horde mount are you a hacker im gonna report you" lol

Hi Project Lore, This is my first comment ever :)

but anyways

My 2nd run during Brew Fest, the mount droped, and we all needed (like always unless somone had it), and i won it :) i dont even know what I rolled because I was so happy!

Im a big fan of Project Lore, and I really like the Kara weeks, due to the fact that I am just now starting in Kara and dont no much about the bosses.

Zerogue, (Level 70 Rogue), c ya!

I recently tried out the Brewfest event. I never really got into attempting any of the seasonal events but a friend of mine asked me to heal for him for a couple of days while running it. The mount dropped once in 13 summons and I happened to win the kodo. It's pretty cool. I'll probably participate in the Hallow's End stuff just to see what the boss is like. I enjoyed this seasonal event.

@Andrew Not going to say anything about your character but the reason people called you an "ass" was because of the way you responded. You could've had the best intentions at heart but your comment had no tact. If you actually care about what people think keep that in mind next time you post.

At first I thought everyone was screwing with me when they said that Kodo dropped about 10 minutes after I left that group. I estimate my final attempt count at around 400, and had spent at least 3 hours in there prior to this drop.

Figures... but I wouldn't have won the roll anyway.

October 6, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterBastosa

I had it (the kodo) drop two times out of the million time i did Coren, I was second place roller on both by a slim margin, crushed my soul
