New Episode! 2.1: Slave Pens

The first part of episode 2 is now available! In this episode, the boys ran into a surprise guest boss. Ahune is a seasonal boss that was only in Slave Pens during the Midsummer Fire Festival, and it's a very fun fight. The Ice Lord had Project Lore shivering in their boots, and not just because it was cold. If you weren't around to see the event, you'll be able to see just how difficult and engaging the new content from Blizzard is becoming.

So check out the very first heroic boss that Project Lore takes on, he's a doozy. This episode is my favorite yet!

Great episode!

A couple suggestions:

Could you briefly mention what talents specs everyone has and a general idea of how uber their gear is? Maybe they could just blog this info?

Also, the current crew is very entertaining, but I hope to see a different mix of classes as the episodes continue. Currently only have 4 of the classes represented in there. Have any alts you could substitute in there once in a while?

Thanks.

That was great guys! Much more fun than the ramps episode!

Ahune was a bitch on heroic, and very tough with as much melee as you have. I remember wiping on him at least 10 times or so before we got him down the first time, its a tough fight to learn.

But IMO that was the fun part of that fight, no one had seen it before, so it was sort of up to everyone to figure out their own strat.

Too bad the fire festival is over. Ahune was kind of a ridiculous boss though. A bit too much of a fight for the gear he gives, and even on good systems depending on your OS/drivers he'd kill your framerate on emerging.

For anyone just watching the videos who may want to do this next year (uh, like anyone will), the trick was to DPS the elite "Hailstone" down as fast as humanly possible while preferably a ranged class with some sort of aoe popped the non-elite adds (which only have like 1.5k health tops). When the hailstone is gone you can have the ranged DPS focus on Ahune if you feel like it (he only takes 25% damage before he submerges) or just blow away the adds and avoid the spikes until he submerges, at which point you bust cooldowns and DPS as hard as possible.

Lather rinse repeat. The non elite adds come quicker in more numbers every time he emerges though. Unless you're packing a whole group with AoE you'll be done in 3-4 phases tops.
