I have a level 70 holy pally that I heal with. I use no addons for healing at all, and I think I do really well (the people I heal think so too. =D)
I just spam Flash of Light on the MT and occasionally on the dps people.
Thing is, I mostly heal for a level 80 frost/blood DK as she is my friend and runs me through dungeons for my quests. =)
I remember my first time being blamed as a healer. I was a level 18 priest and I think we were running WC. First of all there were only 2 other people in the group but keeping them healed wasn't the problem. It was the healing I did that would generate threat and the lack of tanking. Basically when I died we wiped. We died like 3 times which basically smashed all my armor and they blamed me for it all, insulted me, and then kicked me out of the group. So basically my first experience healing in a group ended with no good drops and armor repair costs. You can guess after that I left the priest class for awhile.
