Project Lore WotLK Beta 1.9

Project Lore goes up and up and up in the winding stairway maze in Utgarde Keep in the WotLK beta. They fight a few new monsters and then find the location of the second boss encounter in Utgarde Keep.

Our poll about trash mobs has almost 2000 votes already, so vote now to let your voice be heard

There's no armory for the beta servers, so here are links for the live characters: Dorkins, Goggins, Lylelovett, Shnoobins, and Juggynaut. In the Wrath of the Lich King beta, Shnoobins went arcane and Juggynaut specced elemental.

to Dorkins, the auto attack problem is what i think it is then you can disable under Interface > Combat, enable 'Stop Auto Attack'

To turn off the auto attack it is in the same section of the options as the threat meter which took me a while to figure out how to get that to work for my hunter when soloing with my pet.

Its under options->Combat and then it has the threat meter options and the auto attack options.

If your going to get a random new pet for the fun of it being a cool new pet, might I suggest the Core hound in the cave of Azuramist Isle, its lvl 11/12 but will auto level to 5 minute your level and its special ability is slow the casting speed of a caster by 50%.

*minus not minute :)

Its not really auto attack, the problem is auto switching targets when your target dies. Especially since I play a bm hunter, and just spam Steady shot, as soon as the target dies, when you use an offensive ability, it auto targets the nearest enemy, AND shoots your ability. that sounds useful, but it doesn't deselect your target, so if you accidentally click on an ally, you will be standing there doing nothing while you push the button, or if your target dies, and you are then targeting nothing, and accidentally push the button again, will target the sheep, trapped, etc. and fire a shot at them. They took out the "you have no target" error. good idea on paper, but flawed in its current implamentation.

Btw, you like the change to sending in your pet? If you have him on defensive, as soon as you use an offensive ability, like arcane shot, or serpent sting, if your pet is on defensive, he will attack the target, without you sending him in. Makes trapping harder, but also makes your pet in combat, and fighting more, and freeing up the button on your action bar.

Under Combat Options you can toggle auto attack on/off when tab targetting/switching targets!
hope that helps =)

Well everyone's said it so I don't have to, haha. The whole auto attack thing that is. My friend is another hunter and he has a beta so he had to find that out the hard way. Good luck Dorkins.

And this time I do agree. They need to be longer for the WotlK content like this. I mean, I wanted to see some fighting! And potentially another wipe. Well, boss fighting that is. Loved this episode though. That meat is gonna come in handy for us hunters. ^^

I would like to know what mod you are using , the one that pops up in the middle of the screen and gives threat or tells you when cooldowns are up.

September 17, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterBill

The threat thing is built into the client (post 3.0) and the cooldown thing is probably talked about here: http://sandbox.projectlore.com/blog/addons-dorkins-cant-live-without

To the question asked, "I wonder how much hp a level 80 has?" well. On the beta server on the PVP realm, murmur, it starts your toons off at level 80 with full pvp gear. I noticed my hunter had around 16.5k hp, 10k mana, and my warlock had around 17k hp, 11k mana, one of my friends has an arms/fury warrior with 21k hp unbuffed. So it will get relatively high.

give some tissue/kleenex to goggins or avoid let him touch you on next episode. Impressive work project lore keep it up!

September 17, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterTarlhumn

Hey! This is all good stuff, but what I would really like to see is samples of how you guys are spec'd for WotLK, or How you will be spec'd at 80... I think if you do it one at a time I would really like you guys to start with Lylelovett! He's inspired me to start a warrior tank and I want to see how he will spend his talent points for WotLK. I think everybody would appeciate this. Thanks! Project Lore FTW!
