The annual celebration of Oktoberfest began over the weekend. Brewfest, as it is known in Azeroth, is another fun filled seasonal celebration like the earlier Harvest Festival. Those of you that may have been disappointed by the lack of stuff to do at this year's Harvest Festival definitely need to check out Brewfest.
The Brewfest offers much more than paying your respect. The latest seasonal even even gives players a reason to venture back to Black Rock Depths. Those of you who participated in the Brewfest last year likely have the old 2007 tickets. Fear not, for those tickets can be turned into the 2008 tokens via one of two NPCs, Belbi Quikswitch for the Alliance or Crest Blix Fixwidget for the Horde. Be aware though, this year's tokens are not savable for the 2009 Brewfest so use them all. For all of those out their who fancy Achievements, you should purchase the "Brew of the Month" Club Membership Form. By the time the form runs its course, you will unlock an achievement for the 2009 Brewfest.
Probably the biggest change to the Brewfest this year is the removal of a purchasable item. Previously, players who saved up 600 tickets could purchase the Brewfest-exclusive mount, but that ability has been removed for the 2008 celebration. Players who wish to score the mounts will now have to return to Black Rock Depths with a daily quest called [Insult Coren Direbrew]. The drop percentage has been reported to be as low as 2-3% and as high as 15%, so good luck. Regardless, Direbrew has some pretty good loot – especially his trinkets - for characters that don't regularly run Karazhan or own Season 2 PvP gear or better.
Direbrew has proven to be a fairly easy boss and very farmable. For starters, you need to complete [Welcome to Brewfest!] and then [Save Brewfest!] before you can get the daily. Once everyone has the daily quest, your group can summon him five times without having to switch up the line-up. Then, have someone switch to an alt with the quest or look around for a new player entirely. Naturally, having a Warlock around would make the whole process go faster. You only need to be level 65 to start the quest, although tanks and melee should be 70.
Brewfest 2008 will end October 4. See you in BRD!

This sounds like fun! But now I am sulking even more because I don't have time right now, so I'm not going to be able to enjoy the fun.
I haven't gone to KZ yet, so those trinkets would be really nice for my Hunter.
Hope the rest of you guys have fun! ^^
And ofc, FIRST!!
I got the Brew of the Month club membership and I gotta say,the drink you get now is quite fun,Binary Beer or something like that; it makes you talk Goblin Binary in /s,/g and /y which is basicly just 0&1's only people with same buff can understand what you say, can't wait till next month's beer
Oh and the list of all brewfest achievements can be found: at

try getting as much of'em as possible this year so you have the Brewmaster title once Brewfest arrives next year
yea, to bad its not like last year..
Good luck on getting the drop and if you do get the drop good luck on the roll..
Worse event this year.
Got the mount :D
and caster trinket for my mage on the same loot, since you can kill him up to five times per group the chances that you get just the trinket you want is pretty high :P
Or you can have him drop the same trinket 3 out of the five times you kill him. :P Lucky coin dropped three times in a group that didn't have anyone who used a shield.
I got melee, tank, and heal trinkets for my pally.
Both mounts dropped but i didn't get one
Overall, i think it's a pretty good deal for people like me with no patience.
Still farming for the Kodo. Got the Ram last year. But i think its great its in old Brd. I think Blizzard more happenings like this in the old instance.
[Save Brewfest!] is not required to be able to get the daily.
I'm new to the whole Brewfest thing.. after you do all the missions and fight off the dwarves.. how do you get more tokens? Wait until tomorrow?
it was fun... we fought the boss like 12 times and on the 12th it dropped the mount... i rolled a 94 XD... a little hint if you want the mount... bring people who have alts
How long did you guys from the TRS guild stay in BRD trying to get the mounts. Hope that some of you got the mount. Laterz my TRS guildys.
The alt tip on getting mounts is cashmoney. I got my Kodo the first day of Brewfest b/c of someone with alts. Have seen 5 mount drops now. (only took 70-80 attempts)
Yeh I was pissed last night....the trinket I needed... dropped 2 times outa 5... and I didn't get it because I greeded and that made me feel stupid. and both mounts dropped and I didn't get one.
Do you think ill ever get that mount drop again?????
I got the kodo mount and the empty direbrew mug on my first run in. It was a run with friends of my guild and guild mates who are all jealous of me. My roll was 2 higher then my friends so that might of added to it.
I need to get the kodo!!!
I did the BRD daily with my fellow guildies, and it was awesome IMO. Although you have to kill him once for each group member, it's a great way of going through quite a few epic stuff that's rather decent. (Myself, I got an epic healing trinket, which'll help me build my resto shaman gear.)
-- As a sidenote --
It's possible to get the mounts. The boss dropped two mounts in a row for my group (prolly a fluke). So don't get dismayed and keep at it. You just might get lucky after all.
I have done this daily multiple times. Coren's lucky coin is evil. It drops 9/10 for my guild, people withough the ability to wear shields have this thing just cause it was there. The epic ram mount dropped once and all my alts got a trinket or four. Definately a good instance but must be a glitch with that damn coin.
