New Changes in the Latest 3.2 Patch Notes

Blizzard just updated the PTR patch notes to include some changes made in the lastest build of their latest patch, 3.2. Included are some minor but extremely welcomed changes to my class of choice along with a few of the lesser classes. Following are the changes from the previous version of the notes from MMO-Champion:
As I said, the changes to the way Wind Shock (now Wind Shear) behaves is welcomed in the Shaman community - this change will at the very least allow me to do a full DPS rotation while still concentrating on interrupts, as most other melee classes with interrupts (Rogues, Death Knights, Warriors) are able to do. I can't wait to try it out on Vezax. Additionally, Maelstrom Weapon + Hex should be extremely useful in PvP.
The other changes that caught my eye were the Druid Flight Form increasing to 310% if the character has a 310% mount and the Val'anyr upgrade. I can only hope they upgrade with my Headless Horseman's Mount the same as the Swift Flight Form. It would be great to be able to keep flying on it once I get my Violet Proto Drake. The Val'anyr change will at the very least make healers still want to run Ulduar once the patch drops (as if they wouldn't anyway).
What do you guys gather from the lastest patch notes?
Arenas
- Beginning with season 7, players will no longer have access to the newest season's weapons or shoulder armor and will not qualify for the Gladiator title/rewards with ratings from the 2v2 bracket alone. Ratings obtained through 3v3 and 5v5 game play will be required for these rewards, while the rest of the newest season's items will remain available to players in all brackets (standard rating restrictions still apply).
Items: General
- Resilience: No longer reduces the amount of damage done by damage-over-time spells, but instead reduces the amount of all damage done by players by the same proportion. In addition, the amount of resilience needed to reduce critical strike chance, critical strike damage and overall damage has been increased by 15%.
Death Knight
- Blood of the North: Reduced to a 3-point talent. Increases Blood Strike and Frost Strike damage by 3/6/10%. There is now a 33/66/100% chance whenever you hit with Blood Strike or Pestilence that the Blood Rune will become a Death Rune when it activates.
Druid
- Swift Flight Form: Druids who have acquired a mount able to go 310% flight speed will now also go that speed while in this form.
Hunter
- Snake Trap: The Mind-numbing Poison effect has been reduced to a 30% increase in casting time, down from 50% to match similar effects.
Mage
- Mirror Image: Images will no longer trigger the death sound when their time expires.
Paladin
- Shield of Righteousness: Now deals 100% of shield block value as damage instead of 130%. In addition, the benefit from additional block value this ability gains is now subject to diminishing returns. Diminishing returns occur once block value exceeds 30 times the player's level and caps the maximum damage benefit from shield block value at 34.5 times the player's level.
Shaman
- Earth Shock: Redesigned. This spell no longer interrupts spell casting, but rather reduces melee attack speed by 10% for 8 seconds (exclusive with similar effects such as Thunder Clap).
- Wind Shock: Has been renamed Wind Shear and no longer shares a cooldown with Flame, Frost or Earth Shock.
- Maelstrom Weapon: Now also has a chance to reduce the cast time of Hex.
Warrior
- Shield Slam: The benefit from additional block value this ability gains is now subject to diminishing returns. Diminishing returns occur once block value exceeds 30 times the player's level and caps the maximum damage benefit from shield block value at 34.5 times the player's level.
Engineering
- Flying Machine: The level requirement needed to learn how to build and use this machine has been reduced to level 60, down from level 70, and the engineering skill level reduced to 300, down from 350. Material costs reduced.
Items
- Tome of Cold Weather Flying: New heirloom item. Players who have reached level 80 can now purchase this book for 1,000 gold from Hira Snowdawn, the Cold Weather Flying Trainer in Dalaran. Similar to other heirloom items, this item can be mailed to other characters of the same realm, account and faction. The book is consumed when read training the character in Cold Weather Flying. Requires level 68.
- Val'anyr, Hammer of Ancient Kings: This item's stats and level have been increased to match the power level of healer weapons coming from the Coliseum 25-person normal difficulty instance. In addition, each time Val'anyr is equipped, Blessing of Ancient Kings will be placed on a 45-second cooldown before it can occur.
The Val'anyr change will at the very least make healers still want to run Ulduar once the patch drops (as if they wouldn't anyway).

As a druid who is not likely to earn himself a 310% flying mount any time soon the new change to swift flight form doesn't have the same impact on me as it will on others, that being said I'm still pretty excited for it.
The change that excites me the most right now has to be the Wind Shear/Earth Shock change since I'm grinding up my shaman. Gonna be good to be able to go properly through my damage cycles without having to worry about gimping my interrupts.
juggy i gotta know being a fellow healing shaman what is your opinion on an upgrade of the totom of healing rains in kara and i cant seem to find anything for an upgrade got anything to tell me i would reely be heard plze reply thou my email thanx
"Lesser classes." Bpsh. :)
Nice Shammy changes. Nothing for rogues - I'll take that as a good thing!
Juggy, Im confused. You say that these new changes will help you "do a full dps rotation while still concentrating on interrupts." But the change to earthshock takes away the ability to interrupt casting. So... what interrupts?
@ Allenok
Wind Shock (now Wind Shear) has an interrupt effect as well, it just doesn't do damage.
I definitely agree with having Wind Shock / Wind Shear having its cooldown removed; it just makes more sense that way. Earth Shock, on the other hand... I suppose Quothea has a point in that one need not worry about timing with interrupts, but I've always enjoyed having Earth Shock the way it currently is (since I'm dual-speced as resto/enhance).
I'm feeling a bit of trepidation, but I'll just withold judgement until the latest patch is released.
"Earth Shock: Redesigned. This spell no longer interrupts spell casting, but rather reduces melee attack speed by 10% for 8 seconds"
So how do I interrupt a spell being cast now ? and of what use is the reduction in Melee Attack speed to a caster.
This is another nail in the coffin of Shaman's not only for PvP but PvE too. Gah time to start playing Paladin.
Just read on the forums that Wind shock intrupts casting ? unless I missed something Wind Shock was a PvE spell to reduce Threat ?
my god, people. wind shock also interrupts (and silences). it's going to be on a different cooldown so you no longer need to save earth shock for interrupts in those situations.
Wind Shock causes no damage but lowers your threat and interrupts casting.
Any Shaman over level 16 should know that.
@ Moomin
read 2 posts above you, wind shear is an interupt...i have a level 45 shaman and even I know that wind shock always had an interupt effect ¬.¬
anyway, I'm quite pleased at the minor change to mirror image, my healers always thought I had died when they heard a troll (which I was often the only one of in a raid) die.
hunters need something really big or my class is going to crash and burn
Aye I re-read the spell data at WoWhead, tbh I dont need to use it when I was raiding as I controlled my threat that and being elemental I was rarely in range or required to use Wind shear while raiding. My bad.
On a side note if I ever respec to Enhancemant I can't help feel that for PvE and PvP I would rather have an interrupt spell that did damage at the same time.
Just the way I see it.
Apologies for the noobness of the above post (for the explained reasons)
moomim,
the problem was that shammys had 4 shocks on one cooldown. this created a situation where shammys had to decide which shock was worth the wait.
the 6 (or 5) sec CD gave casters a big window to hit the shammy. so shammys started to save earth shock to interupt--but of course that meant they couldn't use any other shock. by having wind shock on its own CD, blizz is letting shammys go full dps with the other 3 shocks while keeping an interupt in their back pocket.
whats the pointof removing the death sound from mirror image
ok...im exicted that when i get my proto drake my flight form will move at 310% =D
Removing the death sound makes healers go "Omg - who did I miss???" less. It is really annoying, especially on a hectic 25 man boss with 3 sets of images dying in rapid succession...
And as they aren't alive anyway, they shouldn't die, they should just fade away.
time to edit my macro again :d Just glad wind shock is of the general shock CD, more deeps for Sham :D

As I am resto almost always when it comes to raiding, I can definitely say... QFT!
hell yeah :D:D:D:D:D:D
seriously PL get rid of these side pop ups they are killing me i cant read the blogs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!thanks
@ Radefa
i'm not sure what you are talking about. Mabby you should run a virus/adware scan.
The wind shock change is nice, coming off the shock CD and all, but why must they ruin earth shock with that pathetic melee speed reducer that won't affect anything in a raid if your tank isn't retarded. I have had my shaman since the beginning of this game, been enhancement since day one. Sometimes it was annoying to have to hold ES to interrupt, yes, but more often on quick casting caster fights I'd interrupt more spells just using my normal rotation than if I tried to time it. What reason do they have for castrating a spell I have been using for nearly five years?
does this mean thy r keepin SoB/SoM? *hopeful twinkle in eye*
