Frost Lotus Drop Rate Increased

The in-game fixes for 2/17 are not very extensive. In fact, there's only one item listed at all this week, but it's a fairly important one, especially for herbalists and those that consistently raid with flasks.

According to Bornakk:

Listed below are recent fixes we have applied to the game. Keep in mind that some of these changes may not be active until after the realm has been restarted.

2/17
  • The drop rate of Frost Lotus, from herbs in Northrend, has been increased by 50%.

The primary justification for this move seems to be lowering the currently exorbitant Auction House prizes on the valued herbs.

Undoubtedly, this is going to mean a whole lot of different things to different people inside World of Warcraft's economic spectrum. As a raider who only casually hunts herbs on an alt, I couldn't be more elated.

If you're lucky enough to have a potion monkey in your guild, and they're charitable enough to lend you a few every week, this probably won't affect you very much. But the increased drops should also send the going rate for flasks plummeting in accordance, making those that have to buy them quite a bit happier.

Of course, habitual herb farmers are going to have it best (well, unless you're trying to sell them). This effectively means you'll be spending half the time you normally do hoping that the RNG gods won't take a crap on you each week while trying to meet your flask quota.

How will this change affect you, readers? I imagine those that depended on the drop or flasks as a sure thing on the Auction House must be fairly upset. Sure, they'll continue to sell, but your war chest will suffer for it.

YAY! maybe I won't need to get an ulduar group every week to farm freya's place every few hours.

All I can say is Gratzzz to Blizzz, when I saw 39g for 1 Flask of the Frostwyrm , and the same for a stack of 20 I saw red, I'm sure there is 1 dude doing multiple chars to control the price.
Gratzz again Blizzz.

The Necessity for Grind for items/rep is long gone at this point in the expansion. At the start, like all others, it was a design to make sure you always had Something to do. Now that were reaching it's end, there's no point in keeping people stretched out in content they may have:

1: Completed on a Main already.

2. Are farming Hard Modes in ICC.

This is all just the start. Soon, the next expansion will Bear it all. Rep/Profession Grind Ahoy!

Enjoy this while it matters. :P
