What are your Daily Routine Priorities?
One thing that constantly fascinates me about WoW is how everyone gets something different out of the game. Some of us really love raiding or running dungeons, others have fun hunting for achievements, some have a grand time playing the auction house, and for some players, questing and learning the lore is the optimal gameplay.
And depending on what we like to do, we tend to prioritize our limited gameplay time to fit in as many of our favorite aspects as possible. And because of the way that Blizzard has smartly created a focus on doing certain things once a day, whether that be for daily quests, your first random heroic, or trying for an achievement in a particular heroic. And because there are so many things that we can do once per day (per toon), that leads many of us to developing daily routines.
Most players I know (including myself), whether it be for gold or for gear, make it a priority to squeeze in one random heroic each day so we can keep building up our stash of Frost Emblems. I also try to get in both Dalaran's daily fishing and cooking quests each day, since they're an easy way to cash in on mats I either already have in my inventory or can quickly get. While out on my fishing excursion, I'll also pick up any quick dailies in the area.
And beyond that, I suppose it depends on what my goals are in-game at the time. If a holiday is running, I'll get in whatever dailies are needed for that. If I'm working on grinding reputation, I'll do whatever dailies I can to achieve that (most recently, the Sha'tari Skyguard and Kalu'ak have been crossed off that to-do list). When enough willing guildies are on, lately I've been trying (though unsuccessfully thusfar) to finish up my Glory of the Hero achievements. If it's raid night, that will obviously take priority. Every day, I try to squeeze in some social guild chat along the way.
I know plenty of other players who spend a large amount of time each day scanning the auction house and searching for ways to make gold (sometimes successfully, sometimes not). Others I know who have a bunch of alts that they want to keep in shape for raiding spend hours each day getting in a random heroic on each one. And a couple of guildies I know who are really into raiding spend most of their time in 10- or 25-man groups, no matter which boss they're tackling.
There are nearly limitless possible combinations to be had, and I'm sure I've left out what some of you would consider key aspects to your day. But the beauty of it is that there's no right or wrong answer - it's all about what brings you the most joy.
How do you prioritize your own time in WoW and decide what you want to squeeze in to any given day?

Raiding
JC daily for my JC
Then any holiday related stuff for my second and third chars (main has the Violet PDrake already)
Random Heroic/Weekly raid on each char for the Frost Emblems.
Farming mats for the JC daily and raid flasks.
Then doing ICC5 Normals/Heroics to gear my 3rd char properly.
The holiday stuff will be jettisoned on a raid night, and post-raid a bunch of groups will form to blast through the Heroics (occasionally with no full healer and/or no tank).
I just got my Glory of the Hero today! The last achievement I needed was Lockdown, where you kill every boss in VH. I did every single boss EXCEPT Moragg, who decided not to come out of his shell for 2 weeks. Then finally today, when I was about to lose hope, he spawned and the moment we killed him, I got my achievement! I was really happy, and Alextrazsa herself sent the drake =)
I'd love to raid and do more instances but I am low geared and nobody is willing to help me. Every guild I've been in is severly lacking in helpful people... Other wise my day is spent making money for gear!
my order of operations : wintergrasp (if its within 20 minutes. takes priority over everything else) > random dungeon (a must everday) > argent dailys > battlegrounds > more random dungeons
MY daily routine has broken down a lot now since I don't have a huge daily quest goal to do in Northrend anymore. I'm exalted with all NR factions. I have every mount/pet reward I could get and I don't really need the gold I would possibly make out of them. The next step I guess is BC dailies, since I came into WoW toward the end of Naxx (the 2nd time round) and never experienced Outland properly, so there are a few random and useless reputations out there. I already have the mount reward factions (Netherwing, Skyguard, Cenarion and Kurenai) however I can finish off Sporeggar and get my Diplomat title, do the Ogrilar dailies and work at all the dungeon/raid based factions.
Once I do finish all those I will be at a loss again, but I'm sure I can start work on some other out of the way achievements.
Well I first do the dailies in northrend then if i havent done WG yet i will and then i do stuff in the outlands then i do 2 of my alts (Rahdek or Kazzoo, yes, I'm using a name of my alt), and if i need to gem my socket (or is it socket my gems) i do BGs until i get it (no, not doing AH, its like 200 gold per piece, not gonna waste it).
Well, recently, I que for randoms as dps to give me time to do quests for exalted with Dreanai for my crusader achievment. Sometimes I'll take a break and fly around Icercrown hunting for nodes. Dailies are not very high on my priority list, but maybe when I get exalted with all Alliance factions, I might spend my time in the argent tournament.
I queue up for random herioc, and while I wait I do dailies to get my back up from buying my new item level 264 boots! When holidays pop up those become frist priority.
@Jarlo,
Queue up for Random Heroics or Instances, it's much easier than trying to FIND helpful people. Yes the wait time may be a little long, but not as long as the wait time to FIND a group on your own.
I start in Vent, chat for a few minutes, then move into the game. Dailies: Cooking and Fishing, Crusader/ SC, Kalu'ak, Oracles. Guild Randoms/ Raid, then I go Achievement Whoring. Trying to get [It's Over 9000!] by next year. Working on [The Loremaster] right now.
I usually jump on my tank toon first to get his random done quick. Then I jump on healer and do the same also spam trade with enchanting and tailoring seen if I can make some gold. Then I jump on hunter and do dailies while I wait for random to que. When that's done if it's a raid day I usually farm leather on my hunter or farm herbs/mines on my tank. If it's not a raid day I see If we have wg then I will look to do VoA on one of my toons if not then I see which toon needs the weekly and do that. Then I run randoms and farm or run my alts which I have quite a few going.
My daily grind depends on whether it's a weekday or a weekend.
Weekday routine:
- Shatt daily fishing
- Dalaran daily fishing
- Dalaran daily cooking
- Dalaran weekly raid if not done the first day
- random Heroic dungeon only once per day for Emblem of Frost
- farming for ores or leather
- listing everything of value on the AH before logging for the day
Weekend routine:
- Shatt daily fishing
- Dalaran daily fishing
- Dalaran daily cooking
- Dalaran weekly raid if not done the first day
- Kalu'ak and BB fishing derbies
- random Heroic dungeons for Emblem of Frost and Emblem of Triumph
- farming for ores or leather
- listing everything of value on the AH several times a day until I log for the night
I used to squeeze some extra fishing in there to try to get the Sea Turtle, but I got that lovely mount just last weekend so I can cross that off my list.
All I do anymore is the daily frost dungeon and the PvP daily. I do the weekly with my guild either on Tuesday when it resets or Saturday.
Other than that all my gold income is from doing random dungeons and putting everything I loot on the AH.
