What Our Titles Say About Us
The titles that we choose to have emblazoned over our toons (or lack thereof) can say a lot about what kind of players we are. And it also can say a lot about who we are in terms of what captures our attention in-game.
Personally, I choose a title based simply on what I think sounds cool. I'm partial to Champion of the Frozen Wastes, Merrymaker, the Hallowed and, now that I've got it, the Love Fool. None of these were particularly difficult or time consuming, I just like the way they sound.
But that would be different if I had any of the five badass titles that we've previously written about (the previous list included The previous list included Salty, Loremaster, of the Nightfall, the Immortal and any arena title), or any of the other extremely rare and difficult titles out there (I'm looking at you, Kingslayer). Add to that list a plethora of other titles such as the Exalted and the Insane along with some now-unobtainable titles. Now any of those, I would wear proudly.
But what does that say about me? Well, I suppose that like most other dedicated players, I can respect others who have put in the effort and time it takes, and also have the skill needed to garner a given achievement. And they might not have even put forth all that for the purpose of getting the title, but instead see it as a perk.
Here's something I didn't expect. Apparently, the "Love Fool" title means "I'm a whore" to some players. My guildies and some others who I've run a PUG raid with know I'm a girl in RL, but I don't go around flaunting it. Regarless, in just the couple weeks that I've been wearing my Love Fool title, I've started getting comments from random people in-game.
The first one came as I boarded a zep while on my quest to honor all the elders. Another player on board started whispering to me the lyrics to Lovefool by the Cardigans, starting with "Love me, love me, say that you love me!" Only when he pointed out my title did I realize what he was referring to. Then a couple days later in a random PUG, one of the party members kept saying in party chat "Loco want to be lovers?!" Apparently he had the Love Fool title, too. Bleh. I responded by focusing on out-dpsing him, which for some odd reason made me feel better.
I should have just changed my title instead. Locomomo, Champion of the Frozen Wastes. Not that hard of a title to get anymore, but perhaps the one that, out of all of my titles, could potentially strike fear into the hearts of would-be annoyances. I'll try it out next time.
What title do you like to wear, and what sort of reactions do you get from them?

Im Running around with the argent champion title wasnt hard to get but it sounds nice
My main Zelorur used The Exalted predominantly, but he has all the old solo achievable titles, and a few odd and ends raid related titles
It's sad that people attribute things like sluttiness with that title, I'm sure that wasn't the intended purpose of the title, Love is a romantic term - not a sexual one
People can be jerks /shrug
Twilight Vanquisher sort of has the same effect as Champion of the Frozen Wastes. Both of them are easy to get now that every is geared, but just the way it looks and sounds makes other people respect you...sort of. When I see a title like that, I don't think "Oh everyone has that" (unless it's Jenkins). I just think about how it sounds, so that's my 2 cents.
I must admit, when ita comes to titles I like to have an RP aspect. I refuse"the patient" and "jenkins". My current one is "the argent champion" since I am a pally but I loved "of Ironforge" as a dwarf. I'm working my way towards "Crusader" and I have 3/5 for it.
My mage uses Guardian of Cenarius most of the time, though I occasionally use The Diplomat as well. However, I unfortunately didn't get far enough in TBC to get Hand of A'dal, which I think is one of the more awesome titles out there.
i prefer to have "the Ambassador" title on because i don't think anybody has the time to grind each reputation up to exalted : )
i mainly use "of the nightfall" not to brag, i just like the sound of it :D
it really is a shame that even jokingly some goons out there read WAY too much into a video game isn't it?
I've been using of the Nightfall..i like the sound of it and since im a rogue it fits kinda well
I like to wear Chef on my hunter, and Flame Keeper on my pally. My rogue has Jenkins, but I just don't think it fits her.
Currently I use Champion of the Frozen wastes on my hunter, The Argent Champion on my Pally and Gaurdian of Cenarius on my Druid.
my pally is currently wearing the Crusader title, but I tend to alternate with The Ambassador. of the titles i do have those two I am most proud of.
i use the same Title as juggy "Asskicker"
i like my of the exodar title. its nice representin where i started playing the game
I use "Loremaster" on my main. I did all that work to get it I might as well use it, but I do really like the lore in wow more then I"m sure alot of people do so it really fits. If firends I have want info about a quest then I"m the one they ask ^_^
But I have so many titles now. All the events (got my 310% mount) all the argent ones, Chef ect. None of the raid ones and missing some of the rep ones, but I think last count I had 27 or so
The Immortal is my favorite one to use, since it's as close as I can get to Mummra the Everliving. Haha
Shame that the immortal and of the nightfall really aren't very impressive anymore. My current title is Twilight Vanquisher, which I don't use to show off (because it's easy to PuG 25man OS+3 now) but I use it since it sounds good, although I'm thinking of changing to Bloodsail Admiral for a bit.
I don't particularly like big titles though, like champion of the frozen wastes since they take up lots of room, I'd rather it just be short sweet and a bit rare. Hey maybe in a year if I actually work toward it I will be Phanttas the insane though.
I like using "the Explorer" because it took a lot of leg work, esp in Old World. I also like Chef just because it was also a lot of work. I'll use the holiday ones around the holiday. I used Jenkins for awhile when I first got it just because it was the first title I'd ever gotten. :)
:3 Elder Darkdreamer. favorite title. though i have the mind of a 6 year old and talk like a lol cat in vent my guildies still love me :D
no weird remarks :D because im special XD
I switch between Ambassador and Crusader on my hunter, sometimes I throw on "Of Silvermoon City" to rep my kin.
On my priest I either use Elder or the Hallowed. I think they fit the toon. :)
i think blizz should make a doctor title. think that would be cool
i have a wide rangee of titles i tend to favor the harder to get titles ilike once you got put in lots of work to get (the diplomat ambassador, chef, crusader, argent champion, guardian of the cenarius, etc)i was a hair away from getting the salty tile one fish away from winning the tournament and someone beat me to it! currently i proudly display my guardian of cenarius title because it just sounds so damn cool
I wear the only title I have... And it seems fitting being a dwarf, Brewmaster! Still very proud of myself for getting it. I know it's an easy one but still.
i loved to wear of the nightfall on my rogue because rogues are always big into darkness and night lol. seemed prettty dank
On my holy pally main, Monsoonmoon, I like to swap between any of the following;
- Starcaller
- the Love Fool
- the Diplomat
- and my most recent favourite, Merrymaker!
