Fire Mage Forever!

There are sooooooo many people that say you should spec a mage in frost, that frost is the only way to go, and that the other talent trees, while cute in their own way, will never match up to the versatility of a frost mage.
Ummm.... WRONG!
Let's just say this right from the get go here peeps. I leveled, solo by the way, a squishy fire mage from nothing to a raiding / PvP machine - a fast casting, consistent damage, mana-managing fire mage that would just as soon scortch a PvPer's face off than debate the pros and cons of chill effect.
Who freakin' cares about chill effect? At the end game are you chillin' a boss or frost novaing Vashj in SSC? Hell no. Now for trash maybe or battlegrounds all freakin' AV weekend, but at big boy boss time you want sustained DPS and mana management.
You tell me who's gonna live longer in Hyjal? A mana efficient fire mage or a pet-poppin', blizzard throwin' frost mage?
Sure I've hear the debate - improved frost nova and other frost tree elements make the frost mage a great croud controller and consistent DPS while only slightly sacraficing mana management. Sure. Maybe. I've yet to see it for myself.
Trust me... I've speced frost for TK and that damn A'lar fight enough to know that I pop so many mana pots that I have to grind for an hour to get those mats again. And this is with Serpent-Coil Braid and Sorcerer's Alchemist Stone.
And don't get me started on the arcane tree - amazing bust damage but the mana management is horrible. Tried it once... liked one shotin' elites in Netherstorm, but I hate drinkin water between every freakin' kill.
So there you have it, my opinion, for what it's worth, on why I like a raidin fire mage machine as my main toon.
If you got a super special tree combo that you think is more mana efficient than mine, let me know.
Love to hear it.
Maybe...

YES! Thank you, thank you for validating my LIFE(as it were) why the F would you want to be anything BUT a bad-ass fire Mage, burninating the peasants? It's SO satisfying watching it all go up in smoke =D
I am leveling a fire mage, and she is currently level 41, and going higher every day (yesterday she was literally 38). Anyway, I do level with friends, and I like the groupability and basically total pwnage I get from my talent build. Its very well rounded, but its better for PvE here it is!

lol, not the best, but its good!
Okay check it out...frost mages really are ideal for hyjal. Here are my reasons. This is a timed event and mana management is critical. the easiest way to do this is to pop up Mage Armor...but aww crap...i lose the crit from molten armor. Wrong! The most mana efficent spell for the waves is the all powerful BLIZZARD. (Queue triumphant music) Blizzard is static damage and therefore cannot crit, and if you spec into the2 staples of frost, permafrost(extra and longer slow) and frostbite(Chance to freeze) as well as Improved Blizzard, each mob is slowed to 15% of their original speed and each tick of blizzard has a chance to freeze the mob in place. If you're doing your job right....and i expect you are seeing as youre in Hyjal, youre Blizzarding on top of your pally tank. if a mob is freezed on the concecrate your tank generates more aggro than it might normally because the mob cant escape the concecrated area...AND if another player gains aggro, too bad...the mob can't go anywhere.
I guess the moral of my story is:
Frosty+Blizzard+Mage Armor=More raid survivability.
Oh yeah...and thats(^^^^^) just 1 frosty...Imagine 2.
I love fire, have been it for as long as i can remember. Only way i think ill ever even think of a respec would be to have 2 parts of T5 for the 25% dmg with arcane blast, even that though i am iffy on. I have heard its good, but who knows.
Check my talent build on the Armory, Vishnue. (realm- Thrall)
One thing is always have the 3pts into frost for the Hit %, Being hit capped is one of the most important things you can do. Depending where you are, and where your guild is at raiding, i would suggest Improved Arcane explosion.
It might not seem like it, but that is the best AOE you have,
You will see more damage using that in a Aoe fight, then anything else. I promise you that.
( BTW) Anyone know of some good Ui's
Pelora- thats good and all....... if you have a good tank that should not even be a thought of them losing agro.
I'm just saying...there's always the over cocky warlock or something that isn't paying attention. losing aggro isn't usually the tank's fault.
Arcane Explosion is good...but not mana efficient. If youve got the time to mana up...be my guest...the problem is it puts you in the fray...so if you snag aggro, youre gonna get B-Slapped without any time to react.
deep fire for the win forever.. allthough not the best raiding that is icyveins fire spec... i allways liked to BURN things to dust with high crit% u can crit nearly 1 time out of 3 spells and combustion adds nice burst in time to time..
i mabye have the weird mind coz i have the all famous dragon's breath in my spec.. but its good when IB is CD...or frostnova is cd..you can allways count on dragon's breath and blink away... =D but the dark hour comes in wotlk..fire mages are no more..the arcane is going to be the best and only raiding spec for mage then coz all guilds only take them anyways.. deep fire mages go down to history..but i still think il try out the living bomb that i think is pretty useless in all terms of plying.. too bad..=/
FIRE ROCKS! I have a 70 and 61 mage, my 70 is currently spec'ed arc/frost (mana mgmt and haste)
but with Lich King, will respec to fire or arc/fire, my arc frost is very good for endgame for mana mgmt (for me), I have very good dps, and with potions, food buffs, etc. mana is a rare issue, I believe that arc is best for endgame and fire for all others, nothing beats a fried horde frost mage.....BUT, learn to use all of mages abilities, have seen better geared mages not touch my dps in heroic/raids-with that being said, Jim Morrison was referring to fire mages with best known hit "Come on Baby Light my FIRE"......ROFL....
FTW
the spec link isnt working any updates available? would like to see it! thanks
