Is 3.0.8 Here Yet??

I don’t think I am the only one growing a little impatient for the promised patch 3.0.8. I really don’t know why I am so anxious, but I am. It is only a minor patch, and I shudder to think how fidgety I will be before the release of Uldar.

Maybe its just me, but it seems like think thing has been up on the PTR forever. While we are only getting some polish and a few changes there are 3 things that have me really excited about this patch.

1. Paladin single target taunt. Finally, this is something I have wanted for as long as I have been a tank, and I can’t wait to see how this fits into my rotation.

2. New enchants. Specifically new tanking enchants (edit: tanking enchant... sigh). As someone who strives to collect all available enchants, this is a big double dip for me!

3. Gotta Go Nerfed. Maybe I am being lazy, but this is the only heroic achievements I have not done yet, and I want my red proto-drake! Sure I could put together an extreme group and spend half a day and grind this out, but somehow it just seems easier to walk through.

There is much more, but those things alone have had me running to my computer every Tuesday morning for the last 3 weeks hoping to see some signs of a patch release. Signs seem to say that this coming Tuesday is likely, but that’s what I said last week. If not this Tuesday it would have to be the one after, right? I can only hope.

How about you guys? Are you looking forward to 3.0.8? I know there are mixed feeling of excitement and dread on class rebalances, and somethings that are minor, but none the less cool (repairing scrap bots!). So what is your take on the pending (we can only hope) patch? If you are not sure, take a look and the patch notes here.

I am looking forward to the patch .. the no mount restriction is cool .. my NE will riding a robo chicken!

But in all honesty Blizzard can keep thier patch just fix the darn lag! For the last two weeks we have had to cancel OS and Naxx raids because the lag was so bad.

Warriors are getting semi-buffed. Or at least Titan's Grip Warriors are. The removal of the special attack hit % decrease on Titan's Grip is gonna be awesome.

Not much else that I liked, but I also haven't read the patch notes in almost a week. Maybe I'll have to take another look.

I can't wait til i only have to use one soul shard to summon loads of people. The amount of soul shards i go through just to ferry people about is scary.

Also kinda looking forward to them putting the shading on the teleport spell so that you know when you're in range. I never use it cos everytime i tried to all i ever get is 'out of range'

Can't wait to see some taurens on the belf chickens tho :)

I can't wait till the changes to Blood DK's and see how many DK nerfs and buffs there are. Also want to see how the change to the Undeath Deck from haste to crit, wonder if its gonna just be a name change and be (i think) 86 haste to 86 crit.

I'm a LVL 73 Night Elf Hunter and I'm dreading the damage reduction to my Volley - so no, I'm not looking forward to this patch even if it means I can gt on a mechanostrider.

DK's on any realm now :D

I've been looking forward to the mining update... a single hit to mine all resources ftw. hopefully they will make nodes respawn faster as well so power mining will be easier now.

I'm really itching for the Loremaster Achievements to be fixed and for the Mount Racial Restrictions being lifted. My DK riding a Hawkstrider. HILARIOUS

I can wait. im a hunter and can safley say i wouldnt mind if it never came! and droods get to use my polearms QQ (im not going to go into a long rant about the hunter nerf, done it enough time 2 my guild, but in short, we needed one, but not this big.)

I agree, it's not a big patch. 3.1 is the patch i am anxious about. New stuff. But 3.0.8 brings some big changes. I'm sad about the BM hunter nerf. I would say that DKs need a "small" nerf. I know this is going to start a fight, but if you have a DK with good gear, you hit like a complete maniac.
I understand the frenzy about 3.0.8, it's the first "important" patch since wrath came out.

P.S. Can't wait for the Icecrown Citadel Patch.

I'm looking forward to this patch, and it has been taking too long. I hope everything is done right when Blizzard use so much time. Good changes for me and my 72 ele shammy. Hope it comes out this week.

:D Frst DK's aint getting nerfed
no howling blast CD + killing machine = 50 1k dmg aoe's per second
bye bye dead ppl

I like the small changes. It seems like everyday someone in trade chat is asking when the patch is coming like anyone else really knows. I am super excited that Ritual of Summoning (me= undead warlock) creates a type of summoning stone. Hopefully it eliminate having to waste 10 or more shards in raids summoning all of the bums who didnt take their first summon.

I'm pretty antsy for this patch to drop, there's a lot of bug fixes that should have been dealt with a while ago.

What amazes me is how heavy handed the nerfs are to hunters and yet dk's are essentially getting buffed. Say what you will but it's pretty clear Blizzard doesn't want to alienate all these new dk's like they did ret pallys post 3.0.2.

I must admit I'm losing faith in Blizzard with each patch. It's astounding the things they are choosing to fix while far more important issues remain neglected. New graveyards added to vanilla? Opening clams while mounted? These changes are coming at the same time as a single target taunt for pallys, rapture being fixed, Honor among thieves being fixed. Very questionable priorities if you ask me.

to me and my friends, this patch is the " great hunter nerf of 2009"

January 19, 2009 | Unregistered Commentercjus

coh cooldown will be in effect, now i only have like 3% healing off coh but those are ALWAYS 2 / 3 pops in a row.

And levitate on others, come on... its one of my cool feats to jump of a cliff and see all the idiots fall to death trying to follow. Really.. check the depth before jumping after a priest :P

January 19, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterSardit

I WANT THIS PATCH. my friend plays on a different realm and i dont want to start at lvl 1. so now i can make a dk on my friend's realm. and with my hunter main getting nerfed i will be happy to change realms to my DK main.

January 19, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterAthelias

I'm a BM hunter who frequently tops 4400dps in 25 man Naxx. and no I'm not bragging, I'm lucky enough to have gotten very geared very fast and am good at my class
The hunter nerf is NOT that big. All hunters are scrambling and worrying if they will need to learn how to play survival spec or level and alt because they won't be invited to raids anymore.
Seeing that in straight up blast away fights like Patchwerk the hunters would be 1000dps higher than the next person on the meters, a 300-500dps is nothing to worry about.
Steady shot gets damage reduced, but Arcane shot (which is a big damage shot) has its mana reduced to that equal of steady shot. I don't see me changing anything but my shot rotation unless my testing makes me change, I say BRING ON THE PATCH

January 19, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterBERNIE

Hunters have been supposedly "nerfed" but the only thing is steady shot and volley. I use niether very much. I am VERY happy about Kill shot having it CD reduced from 35 sec to 15 though!

January 19, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterMax

My hunts getting barely nerfed and my warriors the same not much for me haha, except for the fact that i only have to mine a nod once to get full ore thats cool!

January 19, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterDeidare

Warlock Mining/Skinning

YES! It's my lazy patch! I love the new portal idea for summoning and 1 hit mines I can not wait for this patch!

January 19, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterTaskun

Circle of Healing nerf.... may this patch never come. Having to first spend 51 points in holy just to get it and then it's just my spammable 'OH SHIT EVERYONE'S DYING HALP!!!' button. Well that and being able to get in 3 party heals during Loatheb really helps.

I know it's been abused when used/pummeled with Glyph of Spirit of Redemption and Glyph of Circle of Healing means that you can (and I have) stay in spirit of redemption for over a minute, but I just think that a 6 second cooldown is just too much. Maybe change the mechanics so that you can't spam it too many times, like add a percentage mana cost to each cast when cast within 6 seconds for example and remove the spirit of redemption glyph, but not take away it's spammability altogether.
