Don't Rule Out Garrosh Hellscream Just Yet

Warning! This post is speculative and potentially spoiler-heavy.I won't lie. I've been cringing inside at the thought of Garrosh Hellscream replacing Thrall. How could he? What would this mean for the fate of the Horde? And why would Thrall allow it? Amatera's recent post on glimpses of the changing Horde on the PTR solidified that even more. I am not a fan of Garrosh, to put it lightly, and based on the comments on that post, plenty of others aren't, either.
In fact, it's easy to name plenty of other Horde leaders who would make a better Warchief. Among the contenders, on one humorous forum thread: Cairne Bloodhoof (which would be difficult if he's dead), Saurfang, Sylvanas, Hogger (/chuckle), Westfall Chicken or a Sickly Gazelle.
And with all this mounting contention against Hellscream, it was only time before the issue would be addressed via Blue Post. Kisirani took the call in a thread questioning Hellscream's ability to lead the Horde. Here's what was said:
"Garrosh is a character with a lot to prove. I realize there's a great deal of consternation out there concerning the tales of what's to come, but I want to reassure you that we understand that concern. We know where you're coming from.
Why are we still going this route? With all respect, you haven't seen the entirety of who Garrosh is. You've seen a great deal of his faults, certainly, but people grow over time, and you may find, come Cataclysm, that he is not quite the disaster you portend. :)
(Mind you, that doesn't mean he's Thrall, either.)"
Can you hear the collective sigh of relief? No? Well, I'm still not exactly crazy about the idea, either. But it does remind me that what we're hearing so far is only bits and pieces of what surely will be a much larger, more complicated story.
If you think back to the Burning Crusade, we did see a slightly different side of Garrosh. Before he knew of his father, Grom Hellscream's heroic death, Garrosh is portrayed as ashamed, intimidated at the thought of becoming a great leader, and even a little depressed. Thrall's news that Grom had fought valiantly to his redemption is a huge part of what transforms Garrosh into the strong, confident, belligerent being that we now know. But at least we see that he is capable of growth and change as a character. My guess is that there's going to be some massive world event leading up to the Cataclysm, or it may even be the Cataclysm itself, that forces Garrosh to grow as a character once again.
Let's hope that by the time Garrosh leads the Horde, if this indeed is to come, that he is a multi-dimensional character with more layers than the surface one we've seen up until now. And if that's not the case, then may Thrall (or one of those other potential leaders - I'd root for Sylvanas) overthrow him and retake the Horde!

I personally think that "IF" Garosh does take over as the Horde Leader than the whole game would feel the impact. Not just the Horde toons, but even the Alliance toons. Garosh as of now may not seem as a great choice but give him time and he may be the greatest Warchief the Horde has seen. But I still have my bets on Sylvanas taking control. But i also(this is slightly off topic) would like to see the Alliance retake back Lordaeron. I do know that most likely won't happen but hey, cant a Son of Arathor dream?
Thrall or Garrosh it doesn't really make a diffrence to me. I'm still going to go in there and kill them. Who cares what their name is.

If Saurfang becomes Chieftain, i would cry tears of joy. I don't care if Garrosh has another side, one false move and he fcks the Horde up good time, at least there is Jaina to keep Wrynn in check, once Thrall gets his RAWR powers, I fear the Horde will have some troubles, plus, anyone related to Broxigar the Red, is a beast, plus its Yarok, and he's almost as beast as Brox (no one in WoW lore could ever be as beast as Brox, idc if you play Alliance, Brox is the most beast person ever) Yarok is the perfect mix of a true orcish warrior and a wise leader who won't get his people slaughtered because he starts to believe in his own infallibility. Although, if Garrosh does become Warchief, he and Wrynn need to duel, and kill each other, so Yarok and Jaina can take control :)

The only way, I can really see Garrosh growing as a person is....(This is my current idea)
The Great Mother in Nagrand dies...distraught thrall feels he is no longer able to lead the horde, and decides to move out of the position of leading. My opinion is that thrall will want to go to outland and take her place, which severely pisses me off, because really....thrall and sylv are tied for my 2 favorite lore charachters. Another thought I had is, because Wrynn still has hard feelings against orcs, and especially thrall, he catches thrall with a small brigade of men, and locks him up, like the syndicate did to him. I feel this would make Garrosh a more responsible leader, and not just "KIll this, Kill that, and get the fudge out of here." The only other way in Which I can see a way in which grom grows, is that their is something about the armor of that pit lord (name escapes me), he feels his fathers essence in it, with that, he gains Grom's wisdom, even though grom was very rash, and would kill grass for getting in his way, I beleive that when he died, a more calm spirit was placed to rest, and just the view of the armor, and the scar in the pitlord's chest, from Grom's axe, would be just enough to make him grow as a person.

Hahaha!!! With a leader like Garrosh, I'll get to kill stupid alliance more often! But the idea of losing Thrall is a little sad, and Cairne being turned into steak, and us trolls getting kicked out of Orgrimmar, and I think I wouldn't like Garrosh Goulash either.....But other than that, can't wait for Garrosh to be Warcheif. For the Horde!

I just want to hop in with this little tidbit.
The term "Warchief" has been shown many times to be Orc exclusive. With that said, seeing as the orcs make up the bulk of the Horde, and the Warchief is its leader, it would seem that only an Orc can become Warchief.
With that said, remember back to the Scourge Invasion? When Garrosh DESTROYED Thrall in a duel?
It also also worthy to note, that a Warchief is also rated by strength. Seeing as Garrosh bested Thrall, he would undisputibly become the next Warchief; as was the story of Doomhammer vs. Gul'Dan
For all those who haven't read up and just now start asking the questions, Thrall is going to become the new Guardian of Tirisfal like many heroes before him, Aegwynn, Medivh so on.
I vote Saurfang, and heavily agree with everything Shnoo said.
I think it's HIGHLY unlikely that Sylvanas would take over considering the Forsaken take their membership in the Horde more of a pawn to use in their game. I personally am a fan of Garrosh. Maybe it's just that I can't turn my back on anything remotely related to Grom, but I think Garrosh would put the baddass back in the Horde (not that it isn't already)
Here's my way of looking at it:
Thrall= The Awesome total Pwnage Racial Leader
Garrosh= The super baddass mother lover Racial Leader
And if Thrall finally get's a much bigger role in WoW by being made the New Guardian somehow...I would not complain.

Thrall becoming guardian came from SA Forums "leak".
As it stands, that leak has been shown to be 99% BS!
You could say Thrall becomes akin to a Guardian, going into the world to calm and tame the elements.
As for Cairne's death? BS!
He most likely followed Thrall, as they share beliefs.
As they are both gone, they both need to leave an "heir" so to say.
