Running out of End Game...

One of my favorite things about playing World of Warcraft has always been the sense that the game is unbeatable. There is always something to do, always ways to improve yourself, and always something to suck up your time if you want it to.

Getting a bit of a late jump into TBC raiding, the sense of things I hadn’t done and bosses I hadn’t seen was overwhelming. I loved having far off carrots to chase after and drive me to work on my character day after day.

Lately though, I have grown concerned. I know lots of people are saying it, but I am honestly starting to believe that the current amount of content is very inadequate. I have long ago downed every boss in the game. When I saw Malygos go down for the first time, it was bittersweet, but I knew there was lots more to do because of the achievement system.

I was content with the fact that while there weren’t any new bosses, there were plenty of new and challenging ways to kill those bosses. The problem now is I’ve spent the time over the last month or so and earned a lot of those achievements. And now I’m faced with the feeling that there aren’t even enough achievements left to keep me very interested.

Sure I will likely keep farming Naxx until I have my gear looking exactly how I want it, and I still have the matter of killing Sartharion with 3 drakes up, but I very much want a longer laundry list of things I could still be doing.

I consider myself a fairly strong raider, but I am nowhere near as hardcore as a lot of people. If I am running into this issue, I’m sure there are many more than myself who feel the same. In my eyes Ulduar can’t come soon enough, and if Blizzard wants to keep its more dedicated players interested there isn’t a moment to lose.

you can allways go pvp....lots of farming in there with 49k per off-set epic + arena and 12k pr Savage....getting a bit bored when one have to farm that much.....

There should be some sort of event to hunt down and kill retards who think writing "first" is some sort of achievement.

I haven't gotten into ANY raiding, so I have the opposite problem. I need to gear up for raiding (and my guild needs to get more 80s XD).

I honestly think people who rushed into LK endgame content are morons. People who don't stop to smell the roses, are just play low-lives. I did not rush to 80, instead I took the time to run around and do what interests me and doing every instance on the way. I, unlike alot of people, CAN wait for the next patch to come out. Some people QQ about not enough content, but how much is enough? If Blizz gave out alot of content, how will anyone beable to move up to the harder content if no one will do the starter endgame content? We'll have the same problem as lowbies just in the 80s area. NOONE is doing the instances, because they're all doing the higher raids/instances.

I disagree with the article, no matter what you can always find something to do inn WoW, just the other day I was talking to my friend who moved to ireland on there, we pretty much just formed a party and chated back in fourth for an hr so. There is always something to do, some objective, to complete in WoW, and as the person above stated, don't rush around with the game. I started playing WoW 2 months ago, my main character though is only lvl 27. I just did what I wanted to do, and the options were endless.

If you started playing Wow 2 months ago, your options certainly are endless.
But those of us that have been playing for years, we've done most of those options long ago...lol

I have been a titan grip warrior so i have run stuff as fury. I recently got geared as much as i can as a tank and am going to start tanking instances. This provides an immense deference and it like a new game.

According to these responses, Bast is a low life. Grats.

But anyways, I feel like the core group of a casual raiding guild (or even a full-on, hardcore, gets-a-boner-for-Sarth-3D raiding guild) is going to be finishing up almost every achievement and will be geared to the teeth just as Ulduar is released. Hopefully it'll be the same story when we're anticipating the following content patch a month and a half or so from now.

To Laeltis, I'm with u. Infact I jist recently hit 80, maybe a week ago, and jist ran H VH last night. So yea, I enjoyed takin my time and grindin a a few bubbles at a time, and workin towards gettin all quests completed for Northrend, although I still haven't tapped Zul'Drak, Borean, the one jist north of Borean, and jist stepped into Storm Peaks to start K3 series.

I completely agree. Blizzard has stated that they would like a steady stream of content instead of tons of content at once like BC. They would like to give people a chance to get the loot before moving on to the next instance, its great for more casual players, but semi hardcore and hardcore get left with LOTS of time to do nothing. I'm to the point where only raids will help me, and seeing as my guild can do everything in 1 day makes for a lot of down time. Just hope 3.1 comes sooner rather then later.

I think everybody regardless of level seems to hit sticking points. Bast's is that he running out of end game stuff which is a fair complaint if that's what he enjoys doing. My problem is that i'm level 80 and i cannot get into any heroics at all. I'm not in a raiding guild (which is probably the problem) and i spend all night in LFG shouting or watching and i get nowhere. I've been 80 for a few months now and i only managed to get into Naxx last night and that was for only one boss before it all fell apart.

I think what i'm trying to say is that it's a huge game and the way to deal with getting stuck is to find something else that you enjoy and have a break from whatever it is that's giving you problems. I have discovered that i am a good rep grinder and i now have my ambassador title and Bloodsail Admiral title.

People who cant get in a raid = altaholics like i was in BC i lved up 4 70s and countless other chars

I really don't think blizzard can win,
in TBC they took flak for having t4 and t5 in game from the very begining, saying it was rushing guilds and not letting them farm up the entry level content

Now in wrath they decided to release one tier at a time basically and now that they do that people complain that there isn't enough content and people are getting bored farming

seriously, is there anything people won't complain about?

February 7, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterCrusade

Laeltis,

People didnt like rush into endgame so fast it just happended to be whats next. People were 80 3-4 days after lich king and they didnt have pvp armor yet so they were stuck doing endgame raids. The content was just exciting for them its not like omfg i wanna beat the game type of thing. I do agree there is a lot of content to do but most of it tedious. People say do pvp and there is something there. Well, you can only do bgs for so long until boredom kicks in, even if you switch to different battlegrounds. BLizzard added the achievement system most likely for the fact that lich king didnt really come with a whole lot to do. I say this because people as you can see are complaining there isnt enough to do.

Now comes the factor of making an alt. There is something right there. But i myself have a level 80dk and 73 pally and 60 priest and 60 druid. and a 36 mage on the way. Once i hit 80 i started endgame because thats what you do. All professions maxed (mining /Skinning) first aid done and its not really that hard to get geared in Northrend. The instances are fairly easy with a group that listens, its no wonder i see almost every level 80 with almost full tier.

All in all, people that play the game a lot you can think they rush into it because all the time they put into it. But, blizzard still should add a lot more content to wotlk to keep people interested.

i dont think its the lack of content just that what we got from the start was to easy
you can have cleart the hole content in a week if you know what you doing
i do hope uldar is gonna be alot harder then what we have now and hopefully some cool encounters :)

February 7, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterFLAK

i to like to take it slow so much so that i missed most of the BC content i do not want that to happen again but iam afraid what will happen if go to fast their is a certain balance to this i have not found yat in the months wrath was released i leveled my DK to 80 and ran roughly oround 20 heriocs i have a few more pieces to replace before iam completly supior with a few epics so take it slow people just renember this game will allways change i started playing right before BC i missed the original and i missed BC cuase i was taking it slow i persinaly wont make the same mistake the third time

February 7, 2009 | Unregistered Commentercocopuff

well maybe for you it was easy some people just catch on quicker than others i didnt think naxx or any of the major was that easy

February 7, 2009 | Unregistered Commenterelionor

BTW i am looking for a new raiding guild i am level 80 DK on garona so if anyne could post some links of their guild website

February 7, 2009 | Unregistered Commentercocopuff

My guild ran into the problem of being the 1st to do all of the raids. Now we sort of sit around twiddling our thumbs looking for something to do. We are all mostly just restless.

February 7, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterBizzle

LOL you have all 728 achievements wow

February 7, 2009 | Unregistered Commentercocopuff

I think the first achievement I got in the new expac was explore Northrend. Other than my professions of course. I wanted to see everything out there minus instances. Now I'm working on the Northrend quest achievements. XP Man I didn't realize I missed so much.

February 7, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterHatell

I'm a moderate player myself, and while I've only done Naxx with my guild I have been at 80 for quite a long time so I can understand how even the more casual players are starting to run out of content to run. I've run plenty of heroics and probably would have done more raids except for the fact that even though I play a lot it is usually in many small spurts. This comes from a person that did take their time getting to 80 and finishing all but 2 zones in Northrend quest-wise, so don't say that people who have run out of endgame have to be those who bumrushed to 80.

Sorry to post this here, but I have nowere to post...
Today, after almost a year playing ONLY WoW, I started playing Final Fantasy XII again. I continued were I stoped (ridorana cataracts, main party at lvl 53) and I had a surprise: the game was awfuly easy, compared to WoW...
You see, if you can use your raiding mechanics of healing, dpsing and tanking in other games such as console RPGs(final fantasy and other stuff like that) you can play faster, better, and at low levels(power runs and stuff...).
World of Warcraft is not just a game, but a great lesson about party mechanics, strategies and so on...
Well, sorry to post it here LoL...
Could anyone that posts in PL talk about this subject?

see ya \o
