Rogue Changes For Patch 3.0.3

My new Mutilate build has definitely gotten me back into my Rogue. I took quite a break from him due to my little excursion with finally leveling a healing alt, but have since returned to him with reckless abandon. Mostly, the new build has me excited due to its different play style, as opposed to my old combat spec.
I have always been partial to daggers, subscribing to the mentality that they are more roguish; although the daggers in World of Warcraft are far too large for my liking. I also would get incredibly annoyed with having to be behind mobs for a Backstab/Ambush build, especially when the servers (or Comcast) decided to be laggy. Those two reasons, and the refunded talent points for Echoes of Doom, made me look good and hard at the new Mutilate build, one without the need to be behind my target.
Yesterday, Blizzard decided to give me something else to look at, thanks to the release of patch 3.0.3 and its class changes. Rogues may not have received as many changes as...well any other class, but that doesn't mean there isn't plenty to think on. Nothing directly affects the new build, but the changes could have me second guessing my move. They don't.
I will just start off with the one thing that could be construed as a nerf, the modification to how Combat Potency can proc. CP will now only have a chance to proc off of an autoattack, specifically, via your off-hand weapon. Previously, players would often spam the low energy ability Shiv to increase the number off OH attacks. That strategy will no longer work.
Aside from that modification, Rogues see a few outright buffs.
Hey look at that, I do have an incoming buff from the patch. Awesome. How do my other brothers of the shadows enjoy the changes? Do you guys agree, that overall, we are getting a bit of a buff? Generally speaking, most of the classes are though.

- Fan of Knives can now be cast without have anything targeted, and had its cooldown reduced by 10 seconds. The ability will also benefit from Find Weakness, not to mention, flat out look cooler.
- When Rogues enter Killing Spree, players will lose their target on them. While the caster will still take damage, they will become “unstoppable.” Which leads me to believe they cannot be stunned or incapacitated, but can be killed, during the duration. Does anyone know if friendly players lose the target as well?
- Riposte will no longer have its effect reduced by other effects that reduce disarm duration.
- Shadow Dance will no longer increase the cooldown for Stealth abilities (Sap, Garrotte, Ambush, Cheap Shot, Premeditation, Pickpocket, and Disarm Trap).
- Last be not least we have the removal of the Glyph of Shiv. The Glyph of Vigor replaces it, which I am all for. *Note - WoWHead's tooltips are messed up on this at the moment.

I would have to agree with the changes i love my rogue again
I always loved my rogue but now i love him even more to me its the most fun class atm lol
i like the changes makes my rouges attacks both more usefull in a instance now and i can keep up with hunter dps :D
god i hate changes for pallies :(
You don't want to get behind targets? Roll Range DPS..
If you are behind your target they will not benefit from avoidance, hence, you do more damage, more damage = more hits = more DPS.. etc :)
I love my rogue and think the change to killing spree is a good thing (eventhough im sub). I was mut before patch and like the changes they made to that spec as well. The reducing the cooldown on the abilities in shadow dance is because we only have so much energy and we will waist it all in shadow dance. (best time to drink Thistle tea)
Since I only play Deep Combat PvE at the moment the buffs don't influence my rogue. I don't care about the Combat Potency nerf either cuz i don't really use shiv in PvE, no need to.
Nevertheless i still love my rogue like on the release day of World of Warcraft. ;)
Yea I'm a pally and right when i get on for the new patch I got whispers no lying saying all the same thing LOL U GOT NERFED BAHBAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA!!!!!!
We are not like the worst class in the game now its just we got a lil weakened.
Rogues got more buffs? Not like having 3 stuns, Cloak of Shadows and the ability to reset the cooldowns of their abilities wasn't bad enough. They need nerfs not buffs. They need a Forbearance like debuff for when casting Vanish and Cloak of Shadows so Rogues cannot do them consecutively, then reset the cooldown and do it again. Granted this is mainly to change Subtlety since it's ridiculous.
On the flip side, I was interested to see the change in Mutilate, mainly because I didn't understand why they made another Backstab clone ability back when it first came out, but now that it doesn't require one to be behind his target to use it, sounds pretty decent. I haven't seen very many Combat rogues in BGs since the patch so I can't say much about Killing Spree.
1)vanish cooldown is down to 2 sc from 5
2)poisons dont need to prepared anymore
3)lockpicking can be done without items
love the roque changes
sorry for the spam : it was down from 5 min to 2 mins (vanish)
It's always best for melee dps to stay behind teh mob as your hits can't be parried (u do more dps) & u're more unlikely to get dmg...
To Grant about the Pally nerf, itrs almost unnoticable, I still never worry about mana, and the jump from Crusader Strike from 110% to 125% makes for the 10% nerf on judgements, Paladins are still just as BAMF as they were made in 3.0.2 if you ask me.
