Final Preparations For WotLK

Stormwind HarborSo this is it, there is less than a week left until the new WoW expansion changes our whole world. Some of us may be fully prepared to head into Wrath of the Lich King, but I’m sure there are many, like myself, that still have lots of preparation to do.

Personally, I have been utterly neglecting the preparations I need to make to be ready for WotLK. With our guild up and raiding again, my thoughts have been directed toward BT progression and not into cleaning out my bank… but we are reaching the point where I need to get things in line to make the boat ride to Northrend as comfortable as possible.

First thing is first. I just started going through my overstuffed bank and started getting rid of all the mats and consumables that will be rendered completely obsolete next week. Being and enchanter and engineer I’ve got more dust and gizmos than I know what to do with. I’ll kill two birds with one stone by clearing up some space and getting some much needed funds to help smooth over the leveling process.

That takes me to the next point. I’ll need gold. I know I will make some along the way, but leveling professions, learning to fly in the cold, and buy BoE epics is going to be expensive. The more funds I have the better, and right now my funds are dangerously low.

Then I’m going to have to take a hard look at my quest log. It’s high time to finish up those last quests that have been rotting in my log for months… either that or drop them. All I know is that when I hit the Fjord, I will want as few quests sitting in there as possible.

At last I will soon have to tweak my spec for leveling, make sure I know what gear will be best for the process and park my toon in front of the boat the night drops. It should be a fun process, and I need to make sure by toons are ready to start the next chapter in there digital lives!

Instead of clearing your quest log, you can try and get 25 quest (non daily's) on completed. this will give you a nice boost at the start.

@ Ananun

Sorry, i never said how it crashed.

Upon turning on the computer it says that there is no operating system. Took it into the repair and waited 2 weeks the first time. I got it back and the same exact thing happened. But im really hoping it crashes again so i get a free one. :D

@Mórathi - it won't give a nice boost, it will actually give a crappy boost. Totally NOT worth it.

There will be ZERO quests in my log when I go to northrend.

Gonna go to Rock 'n' roll central Basildon to get mine. The store i work in is open 24 hours, so i'm gonna get Wrath cheaper =D Gotta love that staff card

I have a suggestion to those of you who, like me, will still somehow have quests in your log: do them after Wrath goes live. This will get those quests out of the way and also give you a little experience boost before heading out to Northrend. I know Outland seems overly congested and boring, but any extra exp helps imo. See you guys on Thursday! :)

I have been frantically building rep with the Netherwing in an attempt to get a Netherwing Drake flying mount the day before WotLK is released. I have an outside chance to do so, but I may end up reaching Exalted on release day.

Captain Skyshatter are two of my latest curse words...

:)

You guys are lucky... I'm not able to hit Northrend untill Dec 21st. That's when the holiday starts and after that I'm gonna do some major playing (about 10-13 hours a day) and enjoy every bit of it.

Living in a small country of Finland, I don't think we will have any problems with the CE edition if we're going to buy it, there's a low chance that they will run out.

Hope you guys get some nice experience in the North! Make sure to make our lives easier by telling us what NOT to do ^^

Clean out your bank, Put on your best pve gear, clean out your quest log, Park your char (or in my case chars) at sw harbor, get the game as soon as the store opens, and don't stop playing till you've reached 80 :). TBC Gear is useless, hp are useless, old mats are useless, and the crappy xp from old quests prevents you only from having fun in northrend.

Let's put some Soulfire on the Lich King.

When BC came out I dropped all my quests.

@Gimbory

unlucky dude lets hope you can get that new pc before lich ;) lol and well if theres no operating systems thats well weird never seen a problem like that mostly the OS corrupted itself and caved in on its self lol shit happens lol

To Phoenix599 - I never raced Captain Skyshatter for the Netherwing rep. Took me 2 weeks of straight grinding and all the dailies, but I had my mount after that.

As for preparations for WotLK... nah, not really doing anything except saving up gold. Gotta love the fact that there are the heroic dailies and regular dailies all over the place to do. It's a nice way to get money fast. I can burn through about 25 regular dailies in roughly 2-3 hours and walk away with about 400g in rewards and an extra 250g in drops and vendor trash.

I have to admit, right now I'm doing achievements and rep building ^_^

I'm insane, I know.

November 10, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterOmbrenoire

I'm going DeathKnight and I'm only level 69 so hopefully, I will get there quickly with my DK. I hope leveling is 5000000000000000000000000000000000000000% faster. Too bad it wont be.
