I've nearly maxed tailoring and have made two out of three pieces of my frozen shadoweave set, which has already cost me a fair amount of gold. I still need to gem those pieces and make the final piece of the set, and then I will probably start running more heroics and maybe head into Karazhan with an over geared guild group. I don't think I will be spending tons of money to completely maximize Xeno's performance, but I won't hold back if I've got the resources on hand. Learning the dynamics of playing a warlock in instances and raids will also help me as a player, even if warlocks' play styles change in Northrend. So, given the amount of time I have to enjoy playing at level 70, I think I just won't worry about being rich in WotLK until it comes out. After all, spending money is more fun that saving it, and I play to have fun.

Good point with your last sentence there. I currently have a 70 warlock who has most of the key pieces, but I went back and forth on the Belt Of Blasting issue, finally deciding to just go for it. In the end, I say it's worth it to get some gear now, because it will make you more effective while you play now, which is more important than letting your toon underachieve for the next few months.
Besides, at level 80 I'm sure we will have daily quests equivalent to the likes of SSO, so we will have our money-makers again.
Aye, I'm currently sending mails to all the SWP raiding guilds on my server (even the horde ones!) asking if they would mind selling me the schematic for the Annihilator Holo-gogs, which are just pure phatness which would go perfectly with my Tempest of Chaos!
Besides, after spending most of TBC saving up my gold (only my warlock has an epic mount, I'm banking on there being a price reduction for WotLK, and I have 20k saved up between my characters) It'll be nice to see some visual gain rather than a big fat number (although that big fat number still makes me feel warm and fuzzy!)
