Poll: How Should We Show Trash?

Project Lore Trash Mobs IntroWe've always been all about our community here at Project Lore, and we really want to get your input on our videos. Through our first eight episodes, we sped up the trash pulls in order to get you quick, short episodes with one boss per episode and one instance per week. This week, we changed it up a bit to show you a whole lot more of Utgarde Keep in the WotLK beta. You're getting one boss per week and all of the guys' interactions through the entire run. So, which do you guys enjoy more? Keep in mind that due to our production schedule we may not be able to completely use one way or the other, but we would love to get an idea of how you feel about it, so vote below! If you've got any extra comments, leave them on this post.

Yeah speed through it so were not druuling over the floor watching this. But if theres something important about the mob or something tricky show it so we get a better understanding

I think it's appropriate to do the trash in real time for the new WotLK content, however I wouldn't want it for every episode. 1 boss per week (meaning one instance every 3 weeks) is way too slow to keep people tuning in. Although you could counter that with video of Alexis doing pretty much anything in front of the camera...

Voted "other" and agree with some people here. If there is a tricky or important pull it might be good to see it in real time (i.e.: nasty adds spawns, special abilities on some non-boss mob, need for non-linear CC, what have you...).
Speed up the other pulls.

im sorry, but you cant have all of it in real time, or even make one full episode as some people stated, it doesnt work well for this. the daily episodes make u keep coming back, longer episodes in all realtime, may turn people off bc not everyone can have it ready to go with no interuption in 3 mins. and if it was 1 big episode, less site hits daily to read the blogs, and less people to watch, because they would be getting around an hour long episode at most. and we know how annoying it is to have that on warcraftmovies....

So... I LOVE that trash music, but sometimes i need to rewind it for a few seconds to see some pulls again etc. If videos in real time combat will be without that music, it would be very bad... I prefer rewinding :D
(Sorry for my English, I'm from Slovakia...)

For simplicity show the first pull of similar pulls in real time. All consecutive pulls afterwards can be sped up.

Keep up the great work.

I would love to see real time trash and still keep it to one instance a week. So the videos are a little longer (20-30 min instead of 10-15) because at the end of the video right now it just makes me mad that it was over so fast.

For new instances, it's nice to see how the trash mechanics work or what abilities certain mobs have.

But other than that, or for old instances, speed up the trash pulls or talk over them with other facts etc.

Trash mobs need to be shown in real time. Why?
[1] Often, trash mobs are clumped together in groups and will result in a multi-mob rush if the pulls are sloppy. Although there is no one "perfect" formula for dealing with pulls or multi-mob rushes, your odds of surviving are greatly enhanced with a little patience and pre-planning. It may be unavoidable, trying not to pull a 5-mob cluster; but having information ahead of time always helps.

[2] They might be "trash mobs" (non-bosses), but there's always potential for great loot. You'll never know what drops if you don't loot it, and you can't loot it until you kill it (or pick pocket).

No, I'm not advocating every episode run 3 hours like Lord of the Rings. Yet, trying to churn and burn through everything in a blurry 2 minute summary is simply a waste of time and does not illustrate anything other than sped-up video.

Since these vids serve as guides I think it is important to show trash pulls Generally a dungeon will only have 4-5 different mob sets so show a clean pull of each. If there are more then just show the more difficult ones. How many time have you been in a raid and you wipe on trash pulls cause maybe you took them out in the wrong order and had a guy bubble and run or a guy who summons or a toon that stands too far to the left and didnt there were mobs there. I think it will be useful to at least show the difficult or tricky pulls.

Wanted to thank you gents for what you are doing. As far as sped up trash pulls - for the older content (BC) I liked it very much. For Utgarde, however, I have enjoyed the slow down - its been great hearing your dialogue regarding new talents/abilities - and getting a good look at the trash. I have been enjoying all your excitement and energy regarding the new content - I have been running around telling everyone to catch you guys on line..

Personally, the banter between you guys while the run is going is priceless. Keep up the good work and show the entire run real time. There's a few things to be learned/shown that way:

1. Full encounter
2. How long it takes to run said instance
3. Tidbits along the way (quest items/mobs, strats for individual mobs, etc)

I personally like seeing how the trash mobs are pulled, as some of the can be really tricky (i.e. right before Mechano-lord whats his name in Mechanar) and it's great to see how to do that and not wipe.. Besides you guys are awesome

Dude, i really enjoy your guys episdes simply because 1 im looking into WOTLK, 2 your monitors are bad as hell, 3 you guy in the speaker is like the best and 4 your Resto shaman is a pretty funny guy. My favorite episode right now is when you guys start talking about the Cobra over the hunters head, that was the shit, pretty funny ¨you got a cobra over your head bro....¨

I like the new talents they gave shamans in restoration im a shaman myself and im currently raiding Sunwell, i cant wait to try out all these new talents myself its gonna be dope! and it also shows me how RETARDED hunters are time to make one.

Hey, I really enjoy your episodes. Just a thought, u could show the trash sped up. I figure u guys are recording the whole run anyways, just editing it to be short, which IMO is great! Perhaps u could do a blooper video at the end of the week or something showing some of the interaction between u guiz, also showing the wipes u have and what u changed in ur strat to overcome it. That way, ppl keep coming for the quickies, and those that want more in depth explanations can go ahead and check out the bloopers reel.

kinda off topic but...

when are we gonna see a forums page!??!?! it would be a great addition to the site!

September 18, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterDavid

I think it should be both. One vid for those who want to see an entire run, and another version with sped up trash.

Some instances I would like to see just bosses, then there are others I may not have sbeen to that I wouldn't mind seeing every pull so I can go in and "be an expert".

September 18, 2008 | Unregistered Commenteryep

You should probably just show one mob, then trash the rest of them, lol

September 19, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterSubzidion

If it means longer episodes woohoo!

September 21, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterSirUrza

Personally, I love it's done in real time. When you go fast I get anxious that you may skip something. I love hearing the interaction between you guys, which makes it 10 times more enjoyable. I also feel as though I fully understand and can visualize what exactly I'm up against. If people are looking for the quick points, there are tons of sites available which give a quick low-down on what happens. Most people are going to watch a video to help conceptualize what they've already read, and you guys do that wonderfully.
Once again, love watching you guys, keep up the good work! :)
