Blizzard Previews Ulduar: Exciting!

For those of you that haven’t seen it yet, Blizzard has posted a very nice description and screenshots of the new Ulduar raid on their EU web site. For the last while I have been rather impatiently waiting for this raid, viewing it more as something necessary to keep my interest, rather than something to look forward to. Well, after reading what Blizzard posted I must say I have changed my tune. I am excited! This raid sounds freaking awesome.
The thing I grabbed onto right away was the size of the content. I have been telling people for a while that I hoped Ulduar would be a substantial raid. Well it sounds like I got my wish. The post says there will be 14 bosses. This makes it larger than all of Tier 5 in Burning Crusade which had 10 bosses (6 in SSC and 4 in TK). Furthermore it claims that 11 of those fights will have hard modes (think Obsidian Sanctum with drakes up). This should provide tons of new challenges, achievements, and most importantly replayability. If I am going to be grinding this instance night after night I’m glad to hear we will be able to change it up and keep it interesting.
The post also mentions an interesting "preinstance" that players must fight through in order to reach the instance proper. It sounds as if this will involve the raid taking out an army on vehicles before a final showdown with a boss that must be taken down on the vehicles as well. While I have never been a big fan of the “vehicle fights” I am going to keep my mind open on this one. While not a big fan of phase 3 Malygos and the Oculus, I love Wintergrasp and this seems to be going more in that direction.
I couldn’t be happier that Blizzard has throw this carrot out there. I will be feverishly checking out the Blizzard site, forums, and news sites looking for more details. But for right now, I feel this one will be worth the wait. Be sure to read the preview for yourself here, and tell me, are you as geeked as I am about this one?

I for one am loving the lore involvement with Ulduar and Nordic mythology.
Not even having really opened the current raid content, i doubt Ulduar will change alot for me, but i certainly do hope it will open more spots in the current naxx raids, so i can participate a bit more :)
Now im excited about it.
I read that Hodir is one of the bosses. Can't wait to be exaulted with them knowing that people are out there killing their honored ancestor guy. (i don't say me cos i can;t get a Naxx group so the chances of me getting into this is impossible)
first time i got in black temple was after WoTLK launch.. so i really think ill wait patiently to Ulduar lol
wow this sounds so freaking cool! ive done 25man sarth 25man/10man vault and 10man naxx all the way to kt but we never finished im hoping to get that under my belt and my retadin is nearly full epics so ill proboly be ready for ten man uldar the week after it releases only problem is i cant play during the week LOL
YAY new raid Finally coz i just got to 80 and geared
This seems less like the Black Temple Release and more like the Hyjal of Wrath. Challengeing and Extremly time comsuming.
Let's see if Blizzard can Wow those Core game players (including me) and shut up the whole "OMG Too Ezy" talk once and for all. Cause this to most players is Do or Die! (but die is commen :P)
Kinda out of topic, but I was (and still am) expecting a cinematic trailer for Ulduar.
I love those vids.
Great info!
I am looking forward to this. My guild has Naxx 25 on /farm and can do OS 2D so once we have downed 3D and finally have people show up for Maly 25 we will have cleared all content (save raid achievements such as undying and immortal) and so new content is much anticipated. I much prefer pounding my head against a hard boss over and over again for hours and then finally downing it over just /farm.
3D down today and my guild is gearing up the non full 7.5 people. Only hope this raid is alot harder than Malygos/25naxx/Sarth 3 drakes
Yup my guild has Maly 10/ Nax 25/ Sarth 2 drakes under our belt and were workin towards our last two parts and everyone in the guild has min 25 man naxx gear. So i think once Uld rolls around well be more than ready.
