With patch 3.2 on the horizon, this will be the last post in the Preparing for Patch 3.2 series. Be sure to check out the posts on Tradeskills and Battlegrounds as well!One thing you should be aware of in patch 3.2 is that all dungeons and raids outside of the Crusader's Coliseum will be dropping Emblems of Conquest. You can buy Emblems of Valor at the cost of 1 Emblem of Conquest, and you can buy Emblems of Heroism at the cost of 1 Emblem of Valor.
Emblems of Heroism will still be useful for a variety of things, such as epic gems, heirlooms, and mounts. Emblems of Valor will not be useful; they already buy hardly anything useful. I suggest that if you have any leftover Emblems of Valor or Emblems of Heroism, you start looking saving these for epic gems if you need some cash or other non-gear rewards. Emblems of Conques will be easy to come by, and that sweet BoE bracer you get will not only be easily replaceable in patch 3.2, but also worthless. Who would drop hundreds of gold on gear when you can do a couple dozen heroics or a Naxxramas run in a few hours and get something much better?
If you need to gear up for patch 3.2, my suggestion is simple: wait! The patch will be upon us any day now and with Emblems of Conquest being so easily accessible, crafted and BoE gear will bottom out in price, and if you are willing to put in some time, Ulduar 25 level gear will be yours from heroics.
In addition to Emblems of Heroism and Valor no longer being accessible, the achievements associated with looting lots of them will be removed and likely made Feats of Strength. If you are a few Emblems away from any of the Emblem-related achievements, go grab them now, before it's too late!
What are you doing with your excess emblems, and what is your gear situation for patch 3.2?

me and 4 mates are farming the hell out of the heroics :D
I'm all set gear wise. I'll probably use my emblems of Conquest that I have now to get a runed orb or two and sell them.
holly carap i hope the bosses will drop more marks tehn tehy do now you need a bundly just for the tier gear wht will happen to the trinkets relics the heriosm vendor has to offer and the relics the valor vendor has

im holding on to all the seals, emblems and mats i can get. after the patch everyone will be wanting to make stuff. so alltho runed orbs and such will go down. basic mats will go up a bit
i'm grabbing what i can for achive. hopefully i'll be able to show off lots of feats of strength :)
I don't quite understand this all, and I blame the horrible writting skills of Heartbourne and my newbness to heroics.
Currently, I am farming up heroic emblems in order to get the gloves and chest part of the tier 7 I want for my character. How will this patch 3.2 effect this goal of mine?
Nice post heartbourne,I would love to see more of proverb,i really like the last article and I wonder why aren't you and MMOchampion writtting about Zandalar,the island full of trolls near maelstrom which we defintetely be included in the new expansion if it will be about maelstrom.

it will actually make it better but also worst. Worst because you are going to have to start over if i am reading the patch notes right. But better because now instead of getting tier 7 gear you can farm heroics and get tier 8.5 gear
Now the thing I am noticing is a lot of people are farming heroics to get the badges but are the badges you currently own being converted to Conquest badges? I dont see anywhere in the patch notes where it says that. Which makes sense bc you can convert still to Valor and Heroism. Its Blizz way for expoliting this and getting all the Ulduar gear as soon as it drops. So for all you that have been farming heroics, im sorry but you might have wasted your time.

well. alltho people can not trade in heroism badges for conquests, hero badges can be traded for epic gems mounts and such.
and the t8.5 gear is limited that you can get from just farming heroics.

i get that point but im pretty sure many started farming heroics think they would get converted to conquest once the patch dropped
Downloading the patch now.
Version 3.2 is out. Just downloaded it but cant login till 03:00 Wed EDT. WOOT! The PTR is offline too.
So the heroics I have farmed up so far (not enough to get any tier 7), are pretty much useless now in terms of getting more to save up for tier 7 shit? Should I instead just spend them to get a better sigil and maybe a mirror trinket for DPS?
You can still grab the tier 7 stuff if you like. Or you could grind heroics for tier 8 and use your valor and heroism for the trinkets, epic gems, or whatever else.
So the tier 7 stuff is more or less worthless now, because I could instead go for the tier 8/8.5 stuff that you can get with conquest emblems?
Time to grab an Energy drink, and take my laptop to my buddies house and meet up with the others for a fun heroic farming night.
Not including all the new stuff there actually is to do now! Runed dragon's eyes, Flask of the North. =) What a big chunk of content to play around with!
Can someone answer my above question? Are emblems of heroism still going to be used to buy tier 7 shit, or will it swap to be emblems of conquest for everything?
Your emblems of heroism will stay where they are and you can still get tier 7 stuff with it.
Thank you Heartbourne, but to follow-up, would there be a point to getting Tier 7 still with emblems of conquest as easy to get as emblems of heroism were?
