No, I Can't Heal SP, Don't You See I'm In BF?!

Oh, god do I understand the pain to be a healer finally. Previously, I have leveled my Rogue, a Mage and a Hunter. Never have I truly focused on a healing class, or even a tank (that is my next project). That was until recently. Since I hit 60+ and have been voyaging throughout the Outlands, I have been bombarded with tells. Ninety percent of them, if not more, simply asked “do you want to heal x,” quest, instance, help in PvP, you name it.
I am not ignorant. I knew that I would be receiving these tells as soon as I got into the higher levels of World of Warcraft, but the sheer number I've been receiving is astounding. Ironically, they would have never asked me had they looked at my gear. It wasn't until some friends ran me through Ramparts, Blood Furnace and Slave Pens a few times that I became a competently geared healer for my level. Before that I was decked out in level 35-50 gear from power leveling – as a Shadow Priest - via the Refer-a-Friend service. This was responsible for my health barely being over 2000 and my mana pool hovering in the 4000 range. Not exactly ideal.
The main reason I rolled a healer is simply because they are always needed. On my other toons, I would have to spam the LFG, trade, city and general chat channels to try and find groups. Minutes to hours could go by before something solidified. Now I simply say “Healer LFG Slave Pens” and boom, I have an invite. It feels nice to be wanted.
In my defense, I feel like I have always been kind to healers, as I never randomly whispered someone or harassed them to come on my run. To top that off, I always would hand them any items I did not need. Healers must have loved me when they grouped with my Rogue. As soon as I felt the group and healer were competent to finish the instance, I'd open a trade window and dump all my mana pots, spirits or mana regeneration food and mana drinks on them. Back in my raiding days, I heard that some Priests asked for me to be in their group in hopes of scoring free swag, maybe that is just my ego talking.
So the moral of the story is, be nice to your healers. Like a good tank, they can find a new group quickly. They don't need you, you need them. Oh, except Goggins, /spit on him at any and all opportunities.

I similarly rolled a paladin because I could never find a tank/healer.
I used to get frustrated at how none of the classes that could heal/tank wanted to heal/tank. I was never upset at the actual person but at the fact that tanking/healing was not a desirable spec for any of these classes.
I honeslty felt bad for tanks/healers because not only do they have one of the most underappreciated classes in the game, they also have to pay 50g everytime they wish to server others by being a tank/healers. Talk about unfair. I believe that eventually the respecing will see some modifications to allow healers/tanks to switch beween dps and tanking/healing at will, without gaining an unfair advantage over other classes. I've heard people think that suggestions was ludicrious, but they would never respond when I asked them for a reason.
I also believe that at some point players will be able to switch between pve and pvp gear without having to carry everything in their inventory. This is similar to what was done in Diablo II.
Having 2 classes that can tank (my druid and my warrior) I have to say, I love healers. They are what keeps me alive. I salute any healers out there, for a job well done.
I feel the love finally.... I am a dedicated healer, and a dang good one (I like to think, and according to my friends). I'm lucky that I don't PUG... I have a great group of guys that I run with, and we are set to grind our way through the expact together. But I do say it is MIGHTY annoying to get all the PSTs asking me to heal random things. Now, I'm nice, I'll reply back and say "no, thanks". But some people actually get frustrated that I'm saying No... As if it's my job as a healer to join all the PUG groups that can't find a healer... Seriously? Seriously.... To all of you looking for a healer, just join the LFG channel, we'll find you if we need to PUG something.
The reason I don't PUG is this... I get asked to join a group, with a Tank that I don't trust, and for a good reason, he winds up being badly geared, and then when we wipe, because everyone in the party pulls aggro off of him, it's MY fault... No thanks... I'll save my gold for the repair bill for people I trust!

I've been a pally healer for a while now and I love it. I love healing don't get me wrong but it has its ups and down.
CONS:
they think you are shady because you went to SL for a healing gear instead of joining their SV group so they whisper mean things to you.
Lots of numb nuts out there who think they can pull tons of adds along with the tank so you wipe out and then blame it on you for not healing. (I dont' heal idiots)
People doesn't know how to mark or the very basic kill order so they start dotting cc's then they start screaming at you for not healing them. (I don't heal idiots)
Tons of idiots out there who think they are the shiznits because they have one purple gear on and doesn't watch their agro meter so they yell at you for not healing them. (Again I don't heal idiots)
They start critizing you for only healing them 5k instead of 8k so I don't heal them at all on the next sets of mobs then they start yelling at you for not healing them. (Ever heard of conserving mana lower level rank heal instead of the higher ranking heal esp. when you only lost 900 health?)
They still think they are the only group that us healers can find. (haha you wish... I'm always in a process of finding new set of group when the one i'm on are full of idiots.)
It is BORING as hell esp. when you killed that same boss 4x the last 2 hours.
It is annoying as hell when your trying to do your own thing and people keeps on whispering you for group invites. sometimes they don't whisper you at all they just send you an invite. (I don't like to heal rude people)
I don't know about this new spell power gear system cuz i haven't played my pally healer. i didn't activate my account for a month now (waiting on the new expansion) We might have to fight for the gears with all the other casters.
Group that doesn't wait for mana regen.
I'm pretty sure there are a lot more out there... these are just a few i can think of right on top of my head.
PROS
I watch TV or talk on the phone while i'm spamming FoL during raid boss fights.
No need to look for a group.
and a lot more....
I dont' like groups who are too a knull on what class to invite or they kick out someone without telling them the reason why because that person has greens instead of blues. that's when i leave that group and group up with that below geared person. Those people forget where they started from (green items). You guys were noobs too one time. No need to be rude or not help out an individual who just wants to play the game and enjoy his character by at least getting one blue piece of gear. You'll never know, that same individual might give you something in return in the future. This is how i meet tons of very nice people. i've gotten tons of blue JC designs that cost 600g-800g in AH for free when they were out doing dailies just because i helped them get a piece of blue gear.
lol i love goggins.
my little bro was watchin some show called icarly and theres this guys that looks like the guy who play goggins
i only get on my warrior if we're missing a tank for a raid these days... but even in those 10-15 mins/week while im not in an instance ppl still manage to ask me if i'd like to tank something lol
bit off topic but seems like a good place to bring it up - i have a lowbie lock, parked in SW for all my AH needs. i could never imagine how many people would ask to be summoned! well, guess that's what i get for having a toon with a name that starts with a "B"!
the kicker is, some people would say they'd give me 5g if i got the rest of a group for them... i have two 70ies... i only summon people if they're nice to me and im not afk :)
"lol i love goggins.

I believe the dude known as Goggins really is the actor on that show. Or at least I've heard.
I'm a 70 warlock on Steamwheedle cartel and it takes me about half an hour just to get in a group, if nobody in my guild wants to come. I envy all you tanks and healers, getting a group is so easy for you guys. Sorry that nobody appreciates you sometimes.
