Show Your WoW Love with RL Halloween Costumes

Have the the Hallow's End festivities been keeping you busy? Between the daily slaughtering of the Headless Horseman, trick-or-treating hourly to keep up my chances of collecting all those masks, and running around "wanding" my guildies, I've been trying to enjoy the event to its fullest. But what about Halloween IRL? You know, that on which our WoW event is based. Well, there's still time to incorporate a little Warcraft in that area, too.

You all probably have seen the host of RL WoW-themed masks and make-up in the Blizzard store in years' past. For the hordies here, there's plenty of options, each which run about $35 to $40: the standard male orc mask, a Thrall-inspired mask, a male troll mask with plenty of tusk, and my personal favorite: the male forsaken mask. There's also the ear prosthetic kits that will set you back about $12 each, in both blood elf and night elf varieties.

That's all through the Blizzard store, but a recent news post on the Blizzard web site also linked to buycostumes.com as an official supplier of a few other WoW-themed Halloween goodies. There, you'll find one more $15 prosthetic kit with the detached jaw of an undead.

Now comes the good (and expensive) stuff. Want to invoke your inner tauren? There's a detailed latex overhead male tauren mask that's still in-stock. That one will set you back $120, but just look at that wild, untamed look in his eyes and scowl on his lips. It may be worth the money to wear that to a Halloween party.

And, of course, there are a couple of masks new for this year that are out of stock and likely won't be replenished in time for Halloween. Allies rejoice - male draenei now have their own mask for $93. And then there's the mask of Illidan Stormrage the Destroyer, which runs about $140. I'd wager that's probably the most universally recognized of the masks - not necessarily the specific character, but the evil that he signifies (the horns and pointy teeth give it away). As I said, neither of those are currently in stock, but may be back around later for next year's Halloween or even Blizzcon.

Well, there are your options for official store-bought WoW masks, but if you hurry there's still certainly time to come up with your own ideas. Take a look back at our coverage of Blizzcon for inspiration. Anyone else wish they could pull off that Diablo Mistress of Pain get-up?! So who's planning to don a WoW-themed costume for the upcoming holiday?
