Addons Dorkins Can't Live Without

Let's be honest here, I suck at this game. I don't come from the world of warcraft, I come from the world of suckcraft. So in order to make it look like I have some tiny semblance of skill, I use addons. And lots of them. These are my hunter specific addons, enjoy.

Beast Training. This makes the beast training window look like a talent window, get it, love it, bottom line. Cooldown Timers2. Do you want to know when your trap is going to break? How about when Bestial Wrath is up? I though so, definite must have. GFW_FeedOMatic. Having trouble figuring out the nuances of pet feedery. Trouble no more, grab this addon and you are set. Brought to you by Gazmik Fizzwidget. GFW_HuntersHelper. Everything you ever could have dreamed of as a fresh, tender, young hunter is here. Install it, like yesterday. Gazmik Fizzwidget is a smart S.O.B. Kharthus's Hunter Timers. Similar to Cooldown Timers2, KHT has the ability to monitor all of your hunter abilities and skills. I use it mainly to show when mend pet and feed pet are active, so I don't go wasting mana and food. ZHunterMod. Last, but not least, Zhunter is a highly customizable addon that lets you do practically anything with your Petbar, your Trapbar, and your Aspectbar. This frees up a lot of space on your main actionbars giving you room for other things like macros and potions. My favorite part is the movable autoshot casting bar, love that shit.
Because of these beautiful little cyber treats, my suckitude rank in the annals of suckness has gone from General Suckington to a more reasonable Sergeant Suckage. Sucking less is always good, so if you know of any must have addons, let me know.

Wrath Of The Lich King Beta Patch Notes!

The WotLK beta patch notes have been opened to the public! Hooray! Now we can find out exactly what all of those "Friends and Family" have been up to. There is a ton of interesting stuff in there, so here are just a couple of my personal favorites. Druid - Hurricane: No longer has a cooldown (was 1 minute). AoE for druids. Even more overpowered! Hunter - Every hunter pet can learn Growl, Cower and either Bite or Claw (never both). Maybe now turtles will show up more! Mage - Frost Armor, Ice Armor, Mage Armor and Molten Armor are no longer Magic effects and cannot be dispelled. Good, now it matters which one you use in PvP! Paladin - Lay on Hands no longer drains all mana, cooldown reduced to 20 minutes. Makes this a ton more useful. Priest - Circle of Healing (Holy): Now works on any targets in the caster's raid, and is now a "smart" heal and chooses the lowest health targets to heal first within it's range. Also now has a 6 second cooldown. Also no longer will heal summoned Snakes from Hunter's Snake Trap. Resto Shaman start looking for a new job. Rogue - Vanish no longer requires the reagent Flash Powder. No more complaining about "if only I hadn't run out of Flash Powder." Shaman - Shapeshifting will no longer cancel Water Walking. That's absolutely awesome. Of course, all of the water will probably be frozen in Northrend. Warlock - All demon abilities and spells will automatically be learned as pets gain levels. That should save some gold while leveling to 80. If only they would refund all of the money already spent on Grimoires! Warrior - Shield Block now increases chance to block and amount blocked by 100% for the next attack. Cooldown increased to 30 seconds. This is going to change some things, no? General - Macros and key bindings are now saved server-side so there is no longer a need to reconfigure them when logging in using another computer. This is great for those of us who play both from home and from a secret location. There are plenty of other noteworthy changes in there, so go look already!

What's Your Take On Project Lore?

Spinuzzi has a great take on Project Lore:

I could see myself spending a lot of time watching this show about how to level up in World of Warcraft. Maybe I'll fire up the Wii and watch it on the TV through the browser. I mean, I don't play WOW, but I don't design clothes either and I still catch Project Runway sometimes.
I love it! We've already had a ton of great feedback, so keep on letting us know what you think about the site, the videos, or anything else. Post a comment here or just email editor@projectlore.com. Also, don't forget to check us out on Flickr, Twitter, and Facebook (Group, Page)!

World of Achievements

Hooray! Blizzard officially announced that Wrath of the Lich King will have Achievements. These will work in a similar fashion to Achievements in other games and on other systems, such as the Xbox 360. So, you can perform a task and get credit towards an achievement. While all achievements will grant meaningless points towards a score for comparison between players, some will also give fun or cosmetic rewards, like many of the seasonal quest rewards. The achievements will be separated into categories of PvP, Dungeons and Raids, Professions, Quests, Events, World Exploration, Reputation, and General. A couple of the examples listed for achievements are Shave and a Haircut and Fo Grizzle My Shizzle. Hopefully the second one has something to do with skinning a bear and having it aggro all bears in the zone. These things are going to do wonders for Blizzard, and will probably keep level 80s interested even more, causing players to spend lots of time and money getting just one more achievement.

Patch 2.4.3 and Me

I've had a little over a day to check out Patch 2.4.3, but it doesn't have much of an effect on me. I've got alts that will enjoy having a mount at level 30, but I'm not really focused on those characters right now. I am too poor to afford a 1200g 22-slot bag, Rogue nerfs are always good in my book, and the removal of Curse of Shadow and change to Curse of the Elements will just make things easier on my lock. One thing that interests me, at least a little bit, is the fact that equipping an item will now cancel any spell cast currently in progress. That means the macros I had that would equip a different totem for each spell I cast are going away. No more swapping totems on the fly unless I want to sit through a GCD. Fair enough. I don't think 79 more healing to my Lesser Healing Wave is going to save the day, anyway. Actually, I can probably clear out some bag space by banking all those totems I was just holding to maximize spells I don't use much. Now I don't even have to worry about making money for that bag. Thanks Blizzard! Now I can just equip Stonebreaker's Totem and call it a day.
