A couple of weeks ago, the infamous "Get Lich or Die Trying" song and video were released to the interwebs. Complete with one of the most famous WoW cosplayers and their merchandise, this video has one of the highest production values of a non-in-game WoW video ever produced. It could be seen far and wide, from Kotaku to Digg, and after a month of development on our new NSFW image, its here on Project Lore!

As fast as it's spreading around the internet, you've probably seen the hot new machinima by Irdeen Prodcutions at this point, but if you haven't, then you're in for a pretty big treat!

By no means is it the longest or the most ambitious of World of Warcraft-themed videos out there. There's neither a grand story to tell, nor a hint of "Crawling In My Skin" playing over a reel of Arthas footage. But boy is this Discovery Channel-inspired piece set to the tune of Hoagy Carmichael's "Heart and Soul" impressive.

With "WoW Boom De Yada," tour Azeroth as its most famous denizens describe how much they love living there. It's enough to make even the darkest heart flutter (and you might even break into song yourself):

And he's got a great and timely video called "Nerf You". The song criticizes the constant complaining players do after a new patch, and the accompanying video is an entertaining montage of imagery and lyrics that make the song fun and easy to follow. Its probably not going to be Nyhm's highest production work or his best video, but its another quality video that makes me chuckle. Any Nyhm fans in the audience?

 The following fan-made video contains major spoilers for The Frozen Halls, the series of 5-man regular and heroic dungeons available upon the release of patch 3.3. This video was made by vodka, a famous progression Alliance guild on Alterac Mountains. I remember back when they were on Mannoroth and my old Horde guild Reformation was competing with them for the server first Kazzak kill. This trailer is quite high quality. They definitely took some time working on capturing the multiple dramatic angles. For anyone who needs to get hyped up about patch 3.3 and its probable release on Tuesday, this will do it for you.

 In this edition of WoWFlix Vault, we are featuring Boombox. This video was recommended to me by one of our commenters, Vayder. It was made by Invisusira over at Pally Stole My Bike, the same person who made Ulduar: Defiance. The quality of this video is pretty astounding. It has pretty good lip-syncing, much better than most WoW machinima. The use of the emotes, dancing, and animations is very clever, especially with the wide camera pans and slow motion. This video really amplifies the comedy of the song. Whenever I think of this song by The Lonely Island, I pretty much will only listen to it with this video.

This week on WoWFlix, we are featuring the recently completed Ulduar: Defiance (also known as Ulduar: The Movie). The third and final part was just released. If you haven't been watching, check out the completed series: If you've experienced Ulduar, I think you'll agree that this series captures a lot of the frenzy and epic scale quite well. The boss dialogue is overlayed quite well, and the production on the video is way above average for a WoW video. If you have yet to completely clear Ulduar, be sure to check out the videos for a sample of the experience. Its great to have this cataloged to remember this great raid instance as we move forward into patch 3.3 and Cataclysm. Check out parts two and three after the break.

I decided that this edition of WoWFlix should be non-music based and PG rated, which ruled out most of the WoW videos I saw in the past month. However, wowcrendor recently hit the scene with his snarky videos, and this one is perhaps my favorite. It tells the story of Urtharo, who starts the video as a boy aspiring to be a Weapon Vendor. Horde players know him well, as he is on the way from the area where you port into Orgrimmar to the bank and auction house, making him clearly superior to Kaja for repairs and vendoring grays. The story goes that he ran a successful weapon shop until BC came out, and nobody bought his stuff. Since he was required by the Orgrimmar constitution to buy people's stuff, he went bankrupt. His shop closed down, but he played the auction house to regain his fortune. He became extravagantly rich, but then didn't pay heed to the warning that Wrath of the Lich King was coming out, and invested and lost most of his money on Primal Fire, since most people wanted Eternal Fire. After becoming so poor that he wandered out of Orgrimmar to the boar farm, where he got boar flu. He then got killed by a harpy when searching for a cure. Discuss.

This collaboration with Gigi, Decision, Abandonation, Demineon, and RedEye (collectively known as the Azerothian 6, or A6) is the epitome of their work. Red did a fantastic job on the video, and each of their lyrical styles come through in the video. Nyhm keeps up with his witty puns, Decision spits some sweet flows, Gigi is sassy, Abandonation picks up the pace, and Demineon breaks it down. I think we've all brought that special someone home to our parents only to have them shot down for not playing WoW. What really jumped out to me was Mrs. Leet commenting that this boy who watches VHS tapes and uses a corded phone "might as well play Alliance." The first time I checked out Project Lore, I was severely disappointed that it was a group of Alliance characters plowing through dungeons. Somehow, this stigma of Alliance attracting n00bs and young kids while the Horde attracts a more "mature" audience is ingrained into my way of thinking. I've really tried to level Alliance characters, but having played Horde for years I can't get over my biases. For all you Alliance players out there, do you still watch VHS tapes and use corded phones?

The cast and creators behind The Guild, including the widely popular Felicia Day of Dr. Horrible fame, have released a new, poppy song and accompanying music video entitled "Do You Want to Date My Avatar?". While The Guild isn't specifically WoW-related, the innuendos will be familiar to any WoW fanatic. Felicia Day did an amazing job with the lyrics, and the costumes are fantastic. Its one of the few times that I look at cosplayers and am actually impressed. Even the people who are supposed to be intentionally silly and awkward come off so well. The whole cast of The Guild crew show up in the video: Bladezz gives the camera some love, Clara sings some backup vocals, and Vork and Zaboo spit some fresh rhymes. The song is addicting and will stay in my geeky playlist. If you haven't checked out The Guild, be sure to go to their website and check out their Youtube channel.
